RE: "Real" carrier flying

AFAIK, it was built and owned by a naval officer who was assigned to recruiting. He used it as a display for recruiting.

RE: Pond Baby

JM............

I have a OS .23 powered cub on floats that is an excellent performer - very scale-like. The Sunny Boy really struggles with a geared speed 400, though. It won't lift off without a...

RE: Pond Baby

As a complete novice in the electric/seaplane field, I don't have any suggestions. From what I've tried so far (a Sunny Boy on floats), it seems you never have too much power!

RE: Telemaster 40 NG conversion

Scott........

Thanks for the poop.

By wire pushrod, do you mean a sheathed wire cable such as the one on my throttle?

RE: Best way to paint a cowl high-gloss?

Unquestionably, the highest gloss can be gotten by applying a color base coat and then top coating it with clear. I use the PPG urethane products. They are a two-part mix using a catalyst. They spray...

RE: Help stripping a cowl.

First thing to ask is, what kind of paint is currently on the cowl? If it is a laquer based paint, you can remove it with some laquer thinner, zylol or acetone, rubbing gently with scotchbrite or...

RE: Thunder Tiger 40 on floats

DWheeler.........

As far as waterproofing the rx, try inflating a latex glove and, while holding the wrist hole shut, push the receiver into the inflated glove. When it's all the way in, release...

And how old will you be in a few years if you don't build? :D

As I remember, the carrier was owned By an officer assigned to Navy Recruiting in Seattle. It was about 30' long and a conversion of some ex-Navy boat.
