It's nothing that's going to turn a prop any faster, but IMHO, they make for a more forgiving motor when it comes to carb adjustments - especially when the motor is running/needs to be run on the...

It being a seaplane, I was thinking APC.

Carbon fibre is OK for use on seaplanes? No clue as they're generally considered too rich for my blood. Anything I've flown of water way smaller than...

So, a 19x8 for a 30cc powered what is likely going to be a 20lb plane?

Thinking a 6p prop to get best possible acceleration/low speed control would be what I was looking for. It's too bad there's...

With the weight we have here (this thing is going to be heavy), I'm thinking the more the merrier when it comes to power. The upper limit there might be determined by how big a prop can be used.

15.8 lbs with no radio or power, or are you calculating that as a finished weight?

15" prop limit, if that's what you end up with, means you are likely looking for a 3 bladed prop when going gas....

Pretty sure we're talking about an Anderson Kingfisher. They're home built/experimentals. I THINK the full scale used Cub wings, or Cub parts to build that wing, but not 100% on that.

Where did...

It wasn't spewing fuel and oil everywhere in the area of the blown gasket? Black crud/dirt buildup on the motor is generally a good sign of trouble. They should run pretty clean and dry for the most...

A lot of guys make the mistake of setting the end point too far open at wide open throttle. That has a tendency to burn up servos (happens all the time!), especially digital servos. Instead, leave a...

Assuming the plane is in good shape, sure. Go for it. BUT, I would suggest you set it up as a sport plane with pretty conservative surface throws and CG location, then get to know it for a while. Get...

No experience with the Stinger version, but plenty with the now discontinues 10cc Evo, and the older 10cc RCGF rear exh. engines. I think maybe a comparison to a glow 60 might be a bit much, as I...

Larry, I'm 70, but I've been flying forever. I think God invented slow 3D for guys like us. Lot's of stuff looks great and is just as challenging when flown in slow motion!

The starting CG's listed by the manual/instructions are notoriously inaccurate. If you've flown the plane, that "suggested" CG is a moot point that can do you no good.

Good point regarding max travel. Many servos are burnt out because they are set up with travel that cannot be achieved. Way better to leave a tiny bit unused.

I'm not sure where your carb is getting it's vacuum signal. It may be internally via a port that can be seen/traced from the carb flange, or it may be externally, via a short piece of vacuum line....

1st, there's no need to be concerned about over revving if you have the right size prop on it. A Citabria Pro should work pretty good on a 17x6. That's the easy part of your question.
