RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck

I'm going to try 20/86 first since I have a 20T and maybe step up to the 23T later. For now, I'm just going to replace the stock rear tires and loosen the slipper a touch. Also, I added a small...

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck

You're not kidding. For those first four runs, I really put it through the paces, broke a body mount and castor block and my rear tires are at about 30-40%. This could get expensive. That's also why...

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck

This is for the guys running VXL on 11.1v. I have this setup and so far am using the 18/86 gears. I only have 4 runs on it like this and am waiting for some decent weather to take it back out. Is...

I ran the packs again today and they seem to be performing well. Thanks.

Lipo problem?

I just picked up 2 3s 11.1v 5000 mah MaxAmps Packs from my LHS and I'm concerned that they may have a problem. Yesterday I brought them home and hooked them up on my new Hyperion 0606i charger. They...

RE: HOW ARE YOU COPING WITH THE ECONOMY?

Has anyone heard any rumors of any companies within the R/C industry which may go belly up due to the economy? I'd just like to know for consideration of any future models I may buy going "obsolete"...

RE: Planes vs. Helis

That is a valid point. Is there a big difference here (crash repair) between foam and balsa construction? I love building and tweaking things, as I'm a tinkerer in general. I just can't see all that...

RE: Planes vs. Helis

That's actually very sound advice that I hadn't considered yet. Thanks for that.

RE: Planes vs. Helis

Thanks for the radio info. I was not aware that there was a difference. As far as buying both, I have pretty limited finances right now and therefore cannot afford that option. Oh but in a perfect...

Planes vs. Helis

First of all, forgive me if this is posted in the wrong forum, There are so many to choose from that this topic could go under. I am just looking for unbiased opinions here. I have been into R/C for...

RE: Venom Mantis

Again, I completely agree. It was fun to buzz around the house and just kind of marvel at the tiny technology, but all I really wanted to be doing was spinning up the Blade CPP the whole time. I...

RE: Venom Mantis

I can totally relate there. I have 2 little ones here as well. That being said, I bought a Havoc today and I hope it lasts longer than that. It surely has been a blast today all except for when my 3...

RE: are my eyes decieving me?

Also, as is often mentioned, it may be worthwhile to check around Local Hobby stores to see what they are willing to stock parts for to prevent long waits between crashes.

RE: Mini Heli

There are actually plenty of references for those tiny indoor helis like the one you have there. Just look around a bit. Search for Picco Z or Airhogs Havoc on youtube. I believe there was something...

RE: Stable PicooZ by fitting a 2.4Ghz 4-in-1 and tail gyro

Wow, there's some pretty neat stuff you have going on there. I've never seen so much engineering go into a heli that started life as a packing peanut (j/k). In a world of constantly downsized tech,...

RE: Venom Mantis

For some reason or another I just don't like how co-axials look and I considered this to be a viable alternative. Also, the fact that Hobbytown, Horizon and my LHS carry them is a very nice incentive.

RE: Along w/ a Helicopter..

Which Helicopter? I know that I keep Main blades, tail blades and a tail motor on hand at all times. Also, go ahead and get an extra battery. I have more spare parts in my heli box and certainly more...

RE: Need good beginer heli!!

LOL. That's funny. I was thinking the same thing. Anyway, as for the original question (I think there was one up there)[:o], one option would be to look at the Esky Honey Bee King 2 rather than the...

RE: any tips hovering????

I am currently teaching myself with a Blade CP Pro. Sure, it's hard...but not impossible. The advice earlier about good vs. bad set-up is definitely great advice. After having crashed a few times...

Venom Mantis

I have been practicing my hover with my Blade CP Pro and waiting for a little better weather to take it outside. During the mean time I have been shopping around for something that would be good for...

RE: HPI Delta-Twin?

Has anyone seen one of these things yet? I'd just like to see a picture besides the one in that ad and get a little more info. It's on many online shops for sale now, but no pics.

RE: what motor would be the best?

It depends on just how much heavier your new chassis is. The Velineon motor is a fairly good choice for more massive applications, due to it's 3500kv rating, for a 1/10 scale 2wd truck. You may want...

RE: HPI Delta-Twin?

Yes, they are the very same HPI. I was surprised too. That's why I wanna see this thing. Apparently, they have a few birds out already. Look at 456mb.com.

RE: NiMh AA charging rate?

I have a Novak Millineum Pro, which I'd like to use for charging these AA's instead of the cheap 16 hr. wall charger, so I can set the charging parameters (i.e. ^ mv, etc..) I suppose I'll start it...
