ANY of the higher kv-rating motors on the market are all but useless for anything other than highspeed runs acorss open spaces.

if you want "medium fast" look at one of the lower kv-rating...

sorry to hear that, but metal spur gears won't solve your problem either.
and as long as you overmotor any vehicle you'll have problems ripping the drivetrain out of them.
I'd suggest scaling...

how is it that you think you're getting, or will get, 55+ out of it?

lipo? it depends. lipos are more sensitive, and require a ESC with a low voltage cutoff to preserve them, but it doesn't mean...

except that "that guy" is the editor of RCCA and doesn't work for traxxas and the other works for him, and it clearly says on the boxes that the release date is Feb. 2009.

No binding in the drivetrain. .... Are you sure? When was the last time you took the car apart and checked everything, including all the bearings?

to increase the ride height, one has to increase the camber link length (in your case you did it by increasing the distance between the ballstuds with your brace, but it's the same thing)

stripped spurs can only come from a few things
* simple abuse, like landing jumps on high traction surfaces with the throttle pegged
* worn out pinions, the alloy pinions wear over time and get...
