RE: FSA Clubhouse

Thanks Dave. That was a 1400W/6s setup with cheap HK fan/motor combo and 25 leftover batteries. Not bad. Video stabilzation makes it look pretty slow tpday, and it was about 25% slower than Sunday...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

You're crazy. For a plane that can't take off from the grass, it really hauls *****.

... I've got a 8lb F-16 with the same problem can Iget a hand toss?

RE: Replacing OS 140 with Himax 6330

BTW, nice job on the conversion. The plane flies beautifully. Now you just have to work on converting your 100cc planes to avoid that scary dead-stick issue you had with the big one last weekend!

RE: FSA Clubhouse

BTW I also agree rolling the field is premature, but it seems there should be some effort made to smooth out the bigger ruts while the field is still soft enough to press back into shape. Anyone...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Just got back from the field. Our area is extinguished but down the road 1/2mi south it was still burning with thick blue smoke (at least when I drove by at 7:30am). I should have a aerial view...

RE: Replacing OS 140 with Himax 6330

May as well throw in some more heresy while I'm at it... in each of the electric conversions I've done recently, rather than being heavier from all the battery weight, each plane wound up being tail...

RE: Replacing OS 140 with Himax 6330

Dave,

With respect to battery cooling, based upon recent experience with the new generations of Lipos (2010) in my bigger planes I have found no need for special cooling. It used to be a big...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Well, first day out since Jan, and first flight since rebuilding the Ultra Stick (after stuffing it back in Nov). Apparently there's a "Plummet at WOT" button on my Tx, and I hit it this morning....

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Andrew, et al -

3 feet of snow on the ground, and a 9 plane backlog in the hangar. That's what I call a perfect storm. Among the backlog, I finally repaired a Stick that I stuffed into Left...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Also off topic, I've got a few motors that need planes, so if anybody has any (otherwise RTF) planes that need motors that you'd like to sell, let me know. Looking for sport/aerobatic, 60"-75" WS.

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Andrew, congrats. And you're in for quite a ride, I know, been there and done that. We had a preemie too (now 7yrs old), but the stuff they can do now is simply amazing so hang in there. If you're...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Kelly, David, thanks for the CA hinge tips. I've gone ahead and done it on all surfaces, incl pre-drilling, and it seems to have worked VERY well. Now to get the pull pull installed, but that'll be...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Ok, so I'm working on my new YAK-54 (very psyched) and about to use CA hinges myself... Question: Do I insert them first and rely on capillary action to absorb the thin CA and get it down into the...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Well, the boss just gave me permission to add to the hanger so I'm checking to see if anyone has a 54"-63" WS brushless electric 3D they're ready to part with? I'd even consider 46/7". You know what...
