I am using the 625mg which is .05 seconds faster than the 645 on my stadium truck and the 94 oz's of torque is plenty for me, but I am not sure if it is enough for a savage. It is a big improvement...

I think they are good engines from what I have read, but outside the price range of most enthusiasts when you can get almost as good of an engine for a lot less so therefore not many people run them....

I think a lot of the fuel's life depends on how long it sat in the hobby shop before you buy it. It could have been 6 months old before it was bought.

I run a stock motor now with a 21 tooth pinion gear with offroad tires, and a 22 tooth pinion with the smaller on road tires. This seems to do pretty good for me for indoor track racing.

I have heard of some people drilling holes in the cover over the pull start or whatever but my engine the bearing is inside the backplate so it is a real pain in the ass to take the backplate off...

Are you mixing the fuel correctly. I think it is supposed to be 50 to 1 mix right? I use 87 octane with weed eater brand oil and it seems to work well for me.

try taking the cover off and putting pressure on the servo arm while turning and see if you can reproduce the problem where you can see the gears.

Maybe the gears have worn down some and are not getting a good mesh and clicking. Might try seeing if you can get a new gear set for it as that is pretty cheap to try.

painting lexan body, truck is painted, looks fairly good.

The parts I need are only about 10 bucks for both trucks but I have to go get them and spend quite a bit of time, fixing the trucks with them afterwards.
