RE: multiple throttle servo failures

Yep...believe it or not I used an amp meter between the throttle servo and receiver to make sure it wasn't pulling any current when installing the servo. I also made sure it didn't buzz like it was...

RE: multiple throttle servo failures

I made sure there was no binding when settin up my throttle servo again. I did take that spring off from the throttle arm when i first got the engine. I also used the heavy metal rod for the throttle...

RE: multiple throttle servo failures

I took apart the two broken servos and the gears look fine in both. I think that the motor or circuit board must have failed. I measured the voltage to the throttle servo to be exactly 6.00 volts. I...

RE: multiple throttle servo failures

I use ball links on the servo arm and carb arm. They're nylon except for the metal ball bearing. The control rod between is metal, not nylon. Here a some pix of the setup.

RE: multiple throttle servo failures

Thanks for the help. I will post some pictures as soon as I get that big cowl off. I do use a smart-fly optical kill and it's a lot faster than having to wait for my throttle trim to completely close...

multiple throttle servo failures

I have had two throttle servos fail on my 50cc Extra 260 (luckily they both happened on the ground). The first was a Hitec MG5245 servo. It was digital, had metal gears, and was a mini size servo. It...

dx7 programming travel throws question

I have an Aeroworks Extra 260 50cc. I'm using Hitec 7955TG servos on the ailerons and tail surfaces. I want more rudder travel; therefore, I want to increase the travel percentage and the high dual...

RE: throttle adjustment problem

I took the cowl off again and tried tuning the engine. I ended up making it an eighth of a turn richer. Flying it today, it seemed like it did lose some power from richening it, but the throttle...

RE: throttle adjustment problem

Flew it twice today. The throttle response was definitely better but still was not perfect. Right now, I do have it set on the innermost hole on the the throttle servo and farthermost hole on the...

RE: throttle adjustment problem

I got the linkage adjusted and it's a lot closer, H: 58% L: 70%. There's no sub trim. I could see that the carb opens way smoother. My throttle stick lines up when the carb is all the way open and...

RE: throttle adjustment problem

Thanks for all of the tips. I will mess around with the linkage and update you guys on how it comes out. I should be able to work on it tonight and fly it sometime tomorrow.

throttle adjustment problem

I recently assembled an Aeroworks Extra 260 50cc and put a DLE 55 in it. The plane has about eight flights on it and the engine has about one and a half gallons of gas through it.

When I first...

RE: standoffs DLE 55 HELP!

I called Aeroworks and they told me I need to use the shorter standoffs and switch the stock muffler to a Slimline wrap around pitts muffler.

standoffs DLE 55 HELP!

I have an Aeroworks Extra 260 and I want to use a DLE 55 on it. The standoffs supplied with the engine are too long. The spinner would stick out a little more than half an inch out of the cowl if I...

RE: 50cc extra 260 engine cg help

just realized the stock muffler hits the engine box with the shorter standoffs(where the engine attaches to). only way that will work is with the original standoffs. They cause the spinner to stick...

RE: 50cc extra 260 engine cg help

Thanks, but I'm trying to figure out whether to use the heavy standoffs or lighter ones. I don't want to add too much extra weight. Anybody with a DLE 55 on their Aeroworks Extra 260?

50cc extra 260 engine cg help

I will be using a DLE 55 on an Aeroworks Extra 260 50cc. First, I used the aluminum standoffs supplied with it and they were too long. The standoffs have a #5 metric hole that is threaded through...

RE: bantam bc6 balancing A123's?

Thanks very much. I figured out I can't plug two separate batteries into two separate ports on my receiver. I will use a SmartFly battery share. I'll get 2 2300mah batteries or a 2300 and an 1100.

RE: bantam bc6 balancing A123's?

Thanks for replying, I will charge each pack separately. Also, in your setup, does that mean you could pull twice as much amps while you are flying? A normal servo connector can withstand about 2-3...

bantam bc6 balancing A123's?

I bought an Aeroworks Extra 260 50cc plane and plan to put A123 batteries in it. I already have a Bantam e-station BC-6 and it can charge LiPo/LiIo/LiFe. I think I can charge an A123 battery as a...
