RE: why am i eating up clutch bells?

Absolutely correct. MUST run RRP pinions with RRP spurs. Either run all stock or all RRP. I did it once with the same effect...unfortunately, it wrecked my bearings too making the fix even more...

RE: Copper Ring Glow Plug and EZ Start?

1. I guess it could...it's just like the metal gasket ring on a spark plug. It gets deformed when first installed and is fine as long as it holds a seal. Usually, the glow plug goes bad before the...

RE: how?

I've never used THS, but they look more like the Traxxas stuff than the MIP stuff in how they're constructed. I'd say go for it!

RE: how?

Funny thing: I purchased MIP center shafts and had several issues with them falling apart. I re-installed the standard Traxxas plastic shafts and have never had a problem, even with my Red-Dot...

RE: Removing the engine mount from a Revo?

Concur. Must at least loosen entire rear bulkhead to remove.

Most times I've done that type of damage, the rear bulks have at least been cracked, if not broken into several pieces. Check them...

RE: engine upgrade

On my REVO, over time I added a center diff, rear brakes, RRP spur and pinion, and a roll cage. That is a bare minimum. Add steel driveshafts to your heart's desire, all steel tranny internals if...

RE: NO GAS!!!! =(

Funny thing...it had to do with all those factories in China being shut down for the Olympics. Apparently, most of the Nitro comes out of Bejing. Go figure.

Last gallon I bought was over $30. ...

RE: Just venting.

It sucks, but it IS their land. It probably isn't you that they have an issue with...it is 6 weeks later when it is you and 23 of your friends having fun.

If you had spoken with the store...

RE: JUMPING ANYONE??

Either gas it or hit the brakes in mid-air to correct your in-flight rotation. Gas results in a backflip. Brakes will roll the nose down.

If you're heavy on the gas when you hit the ramp,...

RE: RPM True-Track

I agree...ran Traxxas steel CVDs in the rear and they pop right out. I had a problem with it even before I put the TruTrack rears in, but I did have the suspension set very tall.

On the up-side,...

RE: air filter oil

Chainsaw bar oil...I'd buy that. It's a little heavier/thicker, but I think that'd work quite well. You can get it by the gallon.</p>

RE: body for tmaxx 4908

? There's bunches of bodies. Shouldn't be the end of the world to get one.

For some of them (H2 or GraveDigger-style, for example), you may need the extended body mounts from ProLine. I put them...

RE: Why is the MGT forum so dead?

Funny thing is that I'd have to agree that the MGT is a very durable machine. When they do break, the repair is generally fairly straight-forward.

My brother has 4 MGTs and has no transmission...

RE: Loctite question

I've never cleaned threads, but I always re-apply lock-tite. I don't ordinarily use on plastic.

RE: Anyone Seen this?!?!?

A) That's why Ialways put my kids in the bed of my side-by-side to watch the action. Of course, before that I had them stand next to a few trees near my 'playground' in the back yard...little boy...

RE: wheelie/speed run

It is difficult to get the temp perfect for all conditions...if you lean out the top end so you get wicked performance, you need to fatten up the low end. That way, the extra fuel at idle and low...

RE: Two more noob questions about my new Tmaxx

The problem, Mr. TommyBoy, is that the large volume of methenol (wood alcohol) in the fuel naturally attracts water and leads to spots where water can build and lead to corrosion. Water and nitro...

RE: Two more noob questions about my new Tmaxx

Very. That is all Iused until switching to Marvel Mystery Oil...it's just so darn cheap! I got tired of that darn Hobbico bottle leaking. I took one of my kid's saline spray bottles, popped the top...

RE: Two more noob questions about my new Tmaxx

Mr. Fabrimacator said most of what I was going to in my overlapping reply, but in addition to his comments is that you're comparing 20W50 to 10W30...at least that's engineered motor oil to engineered...

RE: What will the next Traxxas Vehicle Be?

Concur with 1/8 scale.  Brother and Pops have MGTs and they are solid performers and very well built, if not perfectly engineered.  Combine Traxxas engineering and assembly know-how with a big truck,...

RE: Two more noob questions about my new Tmaxx

I don't disagree at all with thousands of folks using WD-40 in their nitro engine after use.Further, I have no doubts that you haven't had any issues.

The question is: What is "best".

50% of...

RE: Two more noob questions about my new Tmaxx

1) I'd only use after-run oil. Those motors are so darn sensitive...blow $200 replacing one after you do something really stupid (like not running an air filter in mulch...motor #1 TRX 3.3...or your...

RE: Thinking this is a Deal

If it was my spare, non-HDMI XBox 360 and my 12 year old Sony 5.1 surround reciever that I'm replacing anyway, I'd consider it. If it included speakers of any quality, I'd consider it much less.

RE: Revo 5309 Upgrades

I wouldn't do the spacers...tough on your uprights and bearings.

I'd do the wing mount NOT for the wing, but for the sway bars (you must get one to get the other). I'm rebuilding my truck now...
