RE: Mini-T/DT Transmission Q?

most all of the cars you have don't have 3-gear trannies, while the mini-t does. more gears = more noise.
run it a while, let the gearbox get worn in and it'll quiet down. get a good ball...

RE: Buggy Wing for the RC18T....

since wingmounts would be mounted to the rear of the shock tower it shouldn't be that hard to configure

RE: New bodyshell from DP

other than the wheelbase not matching perfectly I don't see why not
as long as you trim out the wheelwells before painting you should be okay

RE: Mini desert truck

bingo
the motor included in the DT is the same motor that comes in the original mini-t and is slower than the motor that came in the baja
since both baja and DT have same shocks, the longer...

RE: What'd I do to my Diff?

shock seals usuall get blown out from use or from overfilling the shocks. actually the oil itself controls the speed of how quickly the shock piston moves through the oil, or how fast it cycles....

RE: What'd I do to my Diff?

mine don't leak either
every leaky shock I have seen has been a result of either abuse, lack of maintenance, improper rebuild, need of rebuild, bent or worn out shock shaft.

RE: What'd I do to my Diff?

maybe, but if they are leaking from gravity alone that tells me they have a even bigger problem on first compression stroke when every bit of oil spews out

RE: What'd I do to my Diff?

good technical explanation.
the deal is that people tried this trick 20 years ago, a picture somehow made one of the rc mags, and people all jumped on it thinking it might work. the photo was sort...

RE: What'd I do to my Diff?

do a google search for "unsprung weight" in a car, you are adding to it
its a trick people thought of long ago, and found out long ago it doesn't work.

RE: Another Mini-DT question

something has to give, all adding aluminum does is find something else to break
good if you want a purty truck that sits on a shelf, bad if youre racing or running or bashing it

RE: Oil or Grease?

you're not thinking of anything that hasn't been thought of before

we don't use anything that thick or tacky in mini's
go ahead, but everyone that has tried stuff like that has had problems

RE: Oil or Grease?

no, thicker or heavier grease will just make the car come to abrubt stop when you let off gas
that is why rc cars use very lightweight thin grease or oil only
