RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible

I don't think you can use the hs-81 servos. I believe they are a little too big to be used as cyclic servos, you'd wind up having to grind the frame to get them to fit. Better to order a set of...

Here's the part number for the unpainted version. I was unable to find one in stock anywhere though.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible

The only way to do my antenna 90 degrees would be to point the one directly at the motor, which would probably be worse than having it turned to the side I think.

The canopy in question is a...

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible

Peter,

Since I'm pretty proud of it, here's my 450 so you can see how I ran my wiring. Notice that my 450 has coaxial parts on it?

RE: ESKY LAMA 4 THREAD

It's a bit off topic, but the reasons gamer noobs are ridiculed is that they tend to exhibit the classic symptoms of insanity. Basically they'll pick a weapon that's completely useless in their...

RE: ESKY LAMA 4 THREAD

Peter,

On the subject of 3s vs 2s.

They do tax the vreg in the electronics, but as far as flight times it increases significantly by going with a 3s. I was able to get 15 minute flights on...

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible

Larger helicopters are easier to handle because of their mass. In the sim I prefer .90 size scale choppers over just about anything else for easy flying.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible

The first hover was a bit scary. I was thinking, "Don't crash on cam, don't crash on cam" and panicked a bit. Second one was pretty smooth though. My throttle is a little notchy in the video. I...

RE: BIG LAMA

1/16" fuel tubing. Has multiple uses other than just shoring up a canopy and it's cheap. $3 for 2 feet of it, that's enough to make several hundred canopy shorings.

RE: Helicopter forums divided by size rather than brand

So you'd place a post about an HK450 from someone like me that isn't a beginner in the beginner's forum or in the general forum where it would never be viewed?

Sorry, but you're not convincing...

RE: Helicopter forums divided by size rather than brand

So let's say I wanted to start a thread about an HK450, exactly where would it be placed? Size classes on electric helicopters aren't that complex. 250 size, 450 size, 500 size, 600 size, and 700...

Helicopter forums divided by size rather than brand

It seems to me that your forum restricts posts about helicopters to only the following brands:

Align
Walkera
Esky
Eflite

Excuse me if I missed one. The point here is that helicopters...

RE: hbk2 with dx7 radio

I have no idea what you're talking about as far as cardan?

Are you talking about torque tube vs a belt? If that be the case it's up for debate depending on who you talk to. I personally prefer...

RE: hbk2 with dx7 radio

An HK450 would most definitely be a better choice.

It's got a much larger availability of parts, it's cheaper to maintain, and it's more stable because of its size.

RE: esky lama outdoors?

IMHO Aircrash hasn't represented 250 class helicopters quite truthfully (though probably not intentional on his part as he doesn't fly them).

250 size helicopters can handle a much stronger wind...

RE: BIG LAMA

The hard part is finding a set of tail rotors that isn't junk.

They have a company that makes tail blades in various colors called KBDD. They seem to be decent quality, but are really...

RE: BIG LAMA

Simon,

You should put a block of red tape on the tip of one of your main rotors (large enough to see, small enough that it doesn't mess up blade balance) and get yourself a set of colored tail...

RE: BIG LAMA

Ammonia based winder cleaner works as well. Just spray it on the surface before you put the sticker/masking piece in place. It evaporates when it dries.
