Take it out and fly it. Assuming that it is clean, the carb is one of the best ever. I still occasionally take out my Miss Martha with its Como .51 PDP and it still runs with the best of them.

My first glo engine was an OK Cub .049 Kit bought in 1950, though it was hardly my alltime favorite. At that time it was sold as a set of parts from which the engine could be assembled and cost...

hrdflite - You mentioned in an earlier post that you also offer the Curare (vs the Super Curare?). I have looked at your website and don't see a product listing, prices, etc. Is that available...

von, I was also disappointed when the Comos were no longer available. We used the 51's in Miss Martha airplanes for funflies, and it was a great combination. They offered more bang for the buck than...

RE: K&B 6.5 RR/RE

KLXMASTER is right on. You will probably have to use something like a 9-6 or, at most, a 9-7 on a 6.5 to keep it near its comfortable RPM range. I have a 6.5 RI/RE and used to run it on a Miss...

RE: if you want a curare plan

Thanks in advance. I'd like a set of Curare plans as well - One of my two all-time favorite pattern airplanes.

7UAF Battery Connectors

I have a little used 7UAF on which the battery connectors (contacts to engage the snap on connectors on the NT-8LP pack) have corroded. I would like to replace these connectors with an in-line...

RE: Pattern Flying in Texas

;)If you guys keep this stuff up, I am going to be forced to get busy and finish my GP Tippo(hanging up for the past 16 years) and my Super Kaos(my 'scrapyard' project with discarded Tippo wing cores...

RE: Pattern Flying in Texas

Tim,

THIS Aggie did find it. I simply used your link . :D Thanks for the info.

Seriously, has the AMA abandoned pattern? I had looked at the AMA competition calendar, and the only thing...

Pattern Flying in Texas

Reading thru some of the threads on this board brought back a lot of memories from my pattern flying days, so I decided to locate a contest and go spend a day as a spectator. Looks like pattern has...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

:)I have no experience with the new generation Chinese ST's, but I have two Bluehead 60's, one S-61 ABC, and three Como 51's(made by ST for the old World Engines Co.) and have found nothing more...

RE: Is pattern dead?

8178, I think you pretty well nailed it. The spectators are more attuned to the big high speed maneuvers like they see with the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds and don't find anything entertaining...

Vinyl Clad Transmitter Case

Does anyone know of a good, reasonably inexpensive source for blank vinyl clad aluminum cases such as those used by Kraft, ProLine, Ace, etc?

RE: Super Tigre .60 Bluehead

Ed & TommyS,

I remember having a G60(not a Bluehead - had a plain unannodized head) some years ago with a steel liner with rectangular ports(4 bypass and 5 exhaust, I think) and a baffled,...

CCRC-

I'm by no means an expert on ST engines, but have owned a number of them, so I will offer my two cents worth on this fascinating thread. My experience with model engines started in the...

I have one that I recently built from a kit that had been lying around for almost 15 years and had survived several moves, etc.

Actually, you might have a tough time recognizing it, because I...

If you haven't bought the kit from Ron, send me an email. I have several sets of Martha plans from a master that was redrawn from kit plans. I may also be able to dredge up a copy of the building...

RE: supertigre G60 bluehead (ringed)

Congratulations!!! You have one of the best running, easiest starting engines I have ever used. I have two of them which I used some years ago on Curare's and Tippo's. On a tuned pipe it's output...

RE: MK Curare 60

As best I can recall, for both the Curare and the Tippo the rule of thumb was that the airplane should barely sit in place when put down on the main gear and the tail. This, of course, probably...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: OS Max engines- the sad demise.

Guys, the OS liner peeling problem is, by no means, a new one. My 61FSR/ABC is on its third liner/piston set, this time a 'real' ABC set from Perf. Specialties. The first one shucked out in the...

Dreaming - is it possible to turbo a R/C Hobby engine?

MAX,

Since you say that you enjoy challenges, think about an opposed piston 'uniflow' engine as a candidate for turbocharging or supercharging. This configuration allows asymetrical inlet and...

Veco .61

I'm sorely tempted to tell you that the old Veco 61's wouldn't run inverted and offer to take it off your hands for a small fee(Darn, I really love those old beasts).

Truth be known, it should...

I'm not into the liner resizing bit, but saw this link posted some time ago. The site is owned by a guy who will either do the resizing or sell you the tools to do it. Sorry, I never learned how to...
