RE: Starter for 52cc FTL gas engine

Hey baja,
Thanks for the post! That's great news! So you don't have any problems when the engine kicks over? Doesn't hurt the drill to spin up for a second? Obviously i'd remove it ASAP, but i...

RE: Starter for 52cc FTL gas engine

My carb sticks out past the cowl anyhow, so that shouldn't be a problem. Easier to get to the needles with the cowl off (even though i've cut a hole underneath).

RE: Starter for 52cc FTL gas engine

RE: Need recommendation for brushless conversion

Ah ok. That makes sense. Thanks Ron.

So for my setup above, the engine says "Max. efficiency current : 10~15A". Do you think that's enough for this plane? Or should i go with something...

RE: Need recommendation for brushless conversion

Sorry, i've confused myself now. I've found 2 motors that have relatively the same Kv, but one uses more wattage than the other. What's the difference between these? Should i only be looking at...

RE: Need recommendation for brushless conversion

Just a wild guess here... but this is what i came up with:

Turnigy 35-30 1100kv Brushless Outrunner motor
Turnigy Plush 30A ESC
Turnigy 1600mah 3S 20C Lipo pack

How does that sound for...
