Thats right,

If they distribute the load as the lift acts on the wing (elliptical load), it would break at lower load :-)
Best regards

Hello Werner,
Unfortunately I crashed my Dog Sabre on landing last year. The model is terrible on cross wind.
For CG I used the most aft position of the instructions.
To get the Sabre slow, I took...

Hi all,
I personally don't like this kind of setup (rods parallel)
Reasons:
- To get the the right throw on the elevator, you have to reduce throw on the servo (lets say servo 45° for elevator...

Hi all.
All the best for 2014.

For the steering cables I found a good solution on the web site of Fei Bao. Connect both cables by a loop made of the rest of a cable strap and shrinking tube ...

Hi Pull Up Now!

I never had problems with different fuel levels in parallel fuel cells (On many planes). If one fuel cell has a lower level, the hydrostatic pressure on the other cell will be...

Hi,
I use both fuel cells in parallel. Just take care, that all lines have the same lenght. No problem with different fuel levels on buth sides. I prefer this setup to make the fuel pump work less....

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi all,

Unfortunately my Dog Sabre stalled on landing. It is repairable but the problem is the carbon fibre joiner. I sent an email to Modellbauusa to get a spare part but got no answer. In UK...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi,

I bought simply a 40$ gyro in my local shop (suppose it is chinese) and it works. For best results, you need a fast servo on the rudder. My biggest problem was to get a free additional...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hello Pull Up Now!

When you set crow (ailerons up) you will get wash out an fight tip stall.

It would be worse with the ailerons down.

Beside this discussion you can fly very tight...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

I can not use a head lock gyro, but most gyros can be set up just for dampening. For this, you need a free channel and block the range for head lock.

Best regards

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi all,

First: Position of CG is involved in crow compensation I fly my sabre with back CG (lighter plane)

How crow works:
When you lower flaps, you get more lift and more drag.
When...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi,

Most thing are said about crow configuration.
The most important are the flaps going down far enough. This technique was first used in multi task gliders. No additional brake servos are...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Most things, I agree.

Landing is very hard on cross wind. I had several hard landings in cross, but never had a problem with the main gear. After around 100 flights, I never had to fix the wood...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi SidGates,

Not necessary. The elevator always has to compensate the pitch down of the wing (normal condition of stability). This is the reason, why the wing is always set up to a positive...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi all,

On a straight wing, washout or washin is not critical beside stall characteristic. (Ok, that's enough) But on swept wings, you have an additional effect to consider. Washout can give the...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi SidGates,

A symmetrical airfoil will produce NO lift at angle of attack zero.
A cambered airfoil produces lift at angle of attack zero. (more cambered, more lift) You need negative angle of...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi,

You can not only consider washout or washin. If the airfoil changes over the wingspan, you will have additional effects. If the section gets more cambered in direction to the wingtip, you...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hi,

The washout is not critical.

When you set crow for landing, the washout is gone.

I still have to correct crow to elevator mix. My plane has a pitch up tendency when using crow on...

RE: The New F86D Dog Sabre

Hello,

I fly a Wren Supersport with Kerostart.

Dry weight is 7.8kg vs 18 lbs of trust. It's largely enough to fly. I just want the trust for starting on grass fields.
