RE: Esky Honey Bee

Yes, you are correct (<font face="Arial" color="#000000" size="2"><span style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px;">standard" LIPO upgrade for the HBFP is a 2 cell 8.4 V</span></font>). You wouldn't...

RE: Could use some help picking out a sim..

My opinion is to start with one of the freeware products (I like HeliSim) because they're, er, um, free (duh!), then decide how much you want to spend on bells and whistles for other SIM's. I like...

RE: Hirobo Quark Blade Repair

Thanks again Bair

Yeah, this heli is so much more stable than virtually anything I've flown to date, trim/weight/balance are piece of cake to adjust for. I'll definately give it a try.

Any...

RE: Hirobo Quark Blade Repair

Awesome. Thanks Bair. I'll give it a try. I guess it goes withiut saying then that the blade balance isn't as crucial on the Quark as it is on other single rotor FP heli's huh? If you've glued blades...

RE: Hirobo Quark Blade Repair

When you say "laminate", what do you mean? Do you glue something to the blade, above and below where you glued the original break back together, stick some tape over it, what material do you use to...

RE: Hirobo Quark Blade Repair

"Thanks" Costa... not sure abut Dave's comments as before buying this heli I can remember reading lots of posts about people gluing the blades back together (just can't seem to find them "now"). Now...

Hirobo Quark Blade Repair

Could someone tell me their recommendation or "tricks" for repairing the foam blades? I've been told they can be easily glued, but was wondering what the best way to do this is. Where they seem to...

RE: Trouble Choosing 450(ish) size

As far as my favorite choices specifically for "450 Clones" go, none of them are on your list. Without going into my reasons "why" (simply don't have the time but I assure you... I "do" have my...

RE: Esky Honey Bee

Here ya go Sam (got this from the rcdiscuss Forum). Seems to be a common problem w/ the HBFP

"It is the antenna. Just use any stranded wire the same guage. Cut it to be about an 1.5 - 2 inches...

RE: Esky Honey Bee

Hey Sam, you might want to post this on another forum as well (like the Beginners or General RC Heli Disscusion). Just not sure how much traffic this thread gets (don't think much though). I'll post...

RE: Esky Honey Bee

I'm not sure about that wire either Sam but I'd be somewhat concerned. Basically the 4-1 is the RX on a HB and I'm assuming it has something to do with signal processing??? Maybe the reason you...

RE: Esky Honey Bee

Hey Sam,

Not sure what the idea is w/ shortening the tail boom (no personal experience). If I were to guess, I'd think it probably has something to do with faster response, similar to removing...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Victor,

No experience w/ this one nor do I know anyone that has (personal experience anyway). I have a database w/ about a 100 different EXI setups and it's not a motor used in any of those. It...

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded

Generally speaking, the "bigger" the heli, the more stable. "Weight" doesn't have a direct correlation to stability due to the fact that how it's distributed is a wild card. Just move the weights on...

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded

"Improved Electronics" will indeed be a big improvement in how your heli flies. The way the gyro holds it's heading, faster response times of the RX, servo etc. HUGE difference!

As for flying...

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded

Same here (as far as putting my time in w/ the other two) although I do still have a complete G2. Still debating I guess on whether to cannibalize it for parts or keep it around as a casual Park...

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded

Thanks for the info DROBIN... I didn't know those parts were interchangeable with the G2/Trex. At this stage I was just going to keep the G2 around as a spare but maybe now I'll use the components to...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Very nice (and cyrstal clear) pics. I wish I could learn that trick for taking such nice, clear close-ups like that!

Thanks!

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded

Hey astrorubble.... Came in here a little late but thought I'd throw in my $.02

Same situation as yourself w/ a few minor variations. started w/ a co-ax (skipped the FP) and then to a G2 (and...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Hey Guys...

I started on my new EXI kit and after installing the motor had a question on where the best place to route my wires to the ESC should go. Does anyone have any pictures of your...

RE: Esky Honey Bee

Sam, I never did get "all" the vibration out but got it down to where I could live with it until comfortable enough to remove the crash kit altogether. Before I found the problem with the flybar...

Yes, I noticed the same thing with mine. What "I" was told (and seems to make sense) is that the vibration is probably there already but just extenuated through the crash gear. In other words the...

RE: After coaxials...SRB Quark or HBK 2?

Not even close... get the Quark! I have both (but couldn't afford the Quark until much later down the line after many other heli purchases) and here's the deal breaker... you will rarely need parts...
