RE: Top 10 signs that ur Hooked on RC-Planes

Hmmm... Two part question: How many of you had your (ex)wife say, "it's me or the planes"? How many of you stay married?

RE: School me on what to do!

Take it to your local hobby shop (a non-chain one preferably) and have them help you. They might not know the exact details on your charger, but they should be able to figure it out quite quickly. ...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

I wonder if it would be advantagious to edit one of the origonal posts to provide direct links to the modification posts? This way when someone is viewing this thread for the first time they don't...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Interesting. Is the horizontal stab of this plane really airfoiled like that? If so, isn't it upside down?

RE: E-Flite F16 ARF 480v EDF - Launching Problem!!

Ha ha... yes, past-tense. It happened during a Warbird Fly-In. I was doing low fly bys over the runway and one fly by got too low for too long. You can see what I was doing and the resultant...

RE: E-flite BAe Hawk 15 DF ARF

RE: E-Flite F16 ARF 480v EDF - Launching Problem!!

Are you throwing it flat? I had an E-flite F-16 and it handlaunched like a dream. A too rearward CG might also be the culprit. How is it flying after a successful launch?

RE: Glassing/Coating foam....

I would avoid Isopropyl and use Denatured. Isopropyl has water in it and tends to leave a film after it dries and I would bet that would affect the way the epoxy cures. I've always used Denatured...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Yeah, I always keep looking back to the KingTech as the way to go. I don't know enough about turbines to fiddle around with their workings, so plug and play is definitely the way to go for now. ...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

I'm looking at getting this as my turbine trainer. After 17 years of flying; including 3D helis and planes, EDFs and warbirds, this would be a nice challenge. My question is which turbine to buy? ...

RE: Anyone recognize this Messerschmidt?

Hate to be a neurotic silly ninny here, but mispronunciation and spelling of Focke Wolf are a pet peeve of mine:

RE: 2.4 Glitches - It Does Happen!

Why is the OP using a 4.8v receiver pack when Spektrum says to use no less than a 6v pack? While, it's not likely the cause of frustration, it can't be helping any.

RE: Fair price to pay for building an ARF

Many people have, more than I've expected (maybe I should raise my prices to weed more people out). You're right, I don't make $20/hour at my regular hobby shop job, but I do make $30/hour as a...

RE: Fair price to pay for building an ARF

I'm not trying to make money off building for other people. I quote prices with the expectation/hope that they'll rethink the option and build/repair it themselves. Last thing I want to do is build...

RE: Fair price to pay for building an ARF

When I'm not at work, my time off is my time. If someone wants me to perform a service during my time then they are going to pay what I feel that time is worth. $20-$30/hour I feel is reasonable...

RE: Fair price to pay for building an ARF

I've worked in a hobby shop for 8 years. We don't offer a building or repair service, so when someone comes in with their car and asked "how much to fix my car" I tell them $30/hour + parts, unless...
