Don't know what it was but after taking the thing apart, cleaning the carb, resealing the engine, works like a charm.  Thanks for the input.

Compression doesn't seem too bad.  Going to seal backplate and around carb and see what happens.

No offense taken.  I am positive that I've got the throttle stop screw.  I had orignally thought it might be an air leak as well however I don't seem to have any trouble running at higher...

Thanks for the suggestion.  I think that what you are indicating is a longer header (ending closer to the stern of the boat).  I don't actually need any length that way.  I just need to get further...

OK I am assuming that it is a .150 flexshaft.  If I find out otherwise I'll pass it along.  Shouldn't really matter.  Based on my plan I will likely be leaving the stock drive setup in the other...

Big, I'm using McCoy MC8s. I don't know if it would run better with MC9s.Haven't tried. I've been quite happy with these. Really the only reason I switched to the 30% is that with a coupon for $20...

I had used 20% but now use 30%.  I've made a few other changes along the way however so I can't say how much benefit I've got from the higher nitro content alone.  I can say that I won't go back. ...
