RE: Engine won't start when idle speed screw tightened.

Don't know what it was but after taking the thing apart, cleaning the carb, resealing the engine, works like a charm.  Thanks for the input.

RE: Engine won't start when idle speed screw tightened.

I definately have the right screw.  To be honset I'm just glad to see that other people seem to be surprised by this too.  Of course I would prefer to figure out a solution but it's nice to know I'm...

RE: Engine won't start when idle speed screw tightened.

I don't get it either. I have the carb open just a bit. Starts fine at that setting as long as the idle screw is loose (I don't have to play with the throttle at all). When I try to set the idle...

RE: Engine won't start when idle speed screw tightened.

This is exactly what is happening. When braking, the carb is getting closed (more than I would like).I can adjust the idle speed screw to prevent this from happening, however when I do so, the engine...

RE: Engine won't start when idle speed screw tightened.

Compression doesn't seem too bad.  Going to seal backplate and around carb and see what happens.

RE: Engine won't start when idle speed screw tightened.

No offense taken.  I am positive that I've got the throttle stop screw.  I had orignally thought it might be an air leak as well however I don't seem to have any trouble running at higher...

RE: Engine won't start when idle speed screw tightened.

EPA?
If Iam not mistaken. The idle screw (to which I was referring) is responsible for making sure that the carb doesn't close off when the throttle is let go of or reversed(ie for braking). As the...

RE: .18 Go Engine Questions

OK so,
OS Part # 22681419
is not a direct fit part but with a little bit of time and a drill I think it will do the trick.

RE: .18 Go Engine Questions

Thanks Fos,
Ordered today.  Looks about right and it seems they've used some other OS parts so I'm hoping.  It was one of the few I was thinking might work but it's nice to have a second opinion...

RE: .18 Go Engine Questions

Can anyone tell me what I can use as a replacement throttle arm for this engine?
Better yet, where can I get one?  Thanks.

RE: Header extension?

Essentially, what I want to do is to use the pipe I"ve already got with the header I've already got.  Together there is not problem making it the length to the back of the boat.  The issue is that...

RE: Header extension?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I think that what you are indicating is a longer header (ending closer to the stern of the boat).  I don't actually need any length that way.  I just need to get further...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

Anyone still running these things?  I just picked one up without an engine. I put in a Dynamite .15 from a Proboat Formula Fastech.  Got it going pretty well. I think that I've figured out the...

RE: formula fastech nitro

Put the engine in the Nitro Hammer and it seems to work well.  In doing so I had to flip the carb around and started looking at the needle settings.  Did anyone else notice that the Engine Manual...

RE: formula fastech nitro

OK I am assuming that it is a .150 flexshaft.  If I find out otherwise I'll pass it along.  Shouldn't really matter.  Based on my plan I will likely be leaving the stock drive setup in the other...

Appreciate the help.
Thanks

RE: formula fastech nitro

Big, I'm using McCoy MC8s. I don't know if it would run better with MC9s.Haven't tried. I've been quite happy with these. Really the only reason I switched to the 30% is that with a coupon for $20...

RE: formula fastech nitro

I had used 20% but now use 30%.  I've made a few other changes along the way however so I can't say how much benefit I've got from the higher nitro content alone.  I can say that I won't go back. ...
