That is true. I would not put a cheap radio on the boat, but in the case of the cars and trucks I have, I am not as concerned.

I just measured the output voltage of the BEC on the ESC. I am getting 5.59V.

The manual on the ESC says 6V BEC. I can probably make up a pigtail and measure the voltage to confirm this.

The batteries are new, so maybe that is an issue. But, they were in the truck, not the boat. In the boat I am using a 4-cell receiver pack.

The antenna is in the stock location on the truck...
