RCM plans...never again!

I know there have been countless threads on this topic, but I just wanted to share my story. I recently ordered some senior telemaster plans, that was 5 weeks ago. Not only have I NOT received the...

Ziroli 87" Stearman Scratch Build

Hello everyone. I've decided to document my upcoming winter project, a Ziroli plans 87" wingspan Stearman. I've decided to scratch build this airplane, cutting all my own parts, as I feel I enjoy...

RE: Hostetler Lancair ES Build with retracts.

Looking good!

How do you like Hostetler plans?

I've got a couple projects in mind, either his Cessna 170 or Cessna 182. I want to scratch build and cut my own parts but I've seen his plans,...

RE: west systems on koverall

It would probably work, I have no experience but it makes sense.

I've covered 3 airplanes in koverall (1 sheeting wing) and I've always used nitrate dope, from start to finish. I use it to hold...

RE: EXPERT PILOTS

I think an expert pilot is someone who has experience in flying several types and variations of aircraft and can safely operate them, but an expert pilot IMO is someone who is still willing to learn...

Best Option- 4.8v or 6v receiver battery?

Hello. I have a new airplane, its a .90 size Yak 54. For servos I'm running (4) Hitec 645 mg, (1) Hitec 425, and (1) Hitec 985 for the rudder. All these servos are analog. I'm using a DSM2 Spetrum 7...

RE: Tools for kit building

My 4 most important shop tools:

1. Sanding supplies, LOTS of sanding supplies

2. Good glue: Wood and CA glue

3. Some sort of saw/knife

4. Builders squares

RE: Top Flite GS P-47 sports scale; diary of a build

Don't worry about the G-10 not being strong enough, it is MORE than enough :D

I saw a guy with a 120" wingspan hellcat weighing 75 pounds using the same thickness G-10 for his aileron hinges.

RE: How should hinge points be setup?

I've done both and the second option is more scale like if you have ever looked at a full scale airplane. If you go with the first method an indentation will be needed because the hinge is bigger at...

RE: Top Flite GS P-47 sports scale; diary of a build

I'll have to agree with you some of Top Flites methods of doing things can be a bit confusing or just not make sense at all. I wish kit companies would stick to normal straight forward building,...

RE: New 12' Telemaster

I have not built the 12' foot version but have built the smaller one and they are great kits, worth the cost. Nothing flies like a telemaster, they have been around for decades. The 12' version with...

RE: Top Flite GS P-47 sports scale; diary of a build

I agree on the tailwheel but I like the sierra unit because on the full scale (P-51 for sure, not sure on the P-47) the tailwheel actually does retract forward, so I guess its just more of trying to...

Top Flite .60 sized P-47 kit

On top of this entire hobby building business this guy is trying to run, its sad enough thinking that a college kid can't spell.
