Yea but is not the state they run drag boats? fortunatly I have the gulf of mexico and many private lakes....so in your opinion the state is killing the hobby,not realizing how much income they are...

I have room under the motor, so making the adj. slot longer so the gears mesh should not be an issue...

I've actually considered that, or going to 48pitch for more ratio adjustment.......I am a machinist aftr all :)

I broke one of the props yesterday.....17tooth pinion on the 650's those Kershaw motors are strong!!!!!

Any boat with the wrong settup can be a toad......right props,trim grearing and cg is what makes fast.......going to 17 on the pininons for the venom props on order......

Spoke with the guy at Kershaw( the motors are Kershaw Revolver 650s)....he is up with to date with what i am doing....All they do is electric....mostly 4 wheel though

14 volt motors are more unpredictable as amp spikes go.....usually less

I know it it can be out of control now.....waiting for delivery of my fins and tabs.....before going forward with the extra esc.. Right now... I need the extra weight to prevent wash outs...

Remember ohms law....heat icreases resistance
resistance increases amps
lowering volage as you run does both
lowered voltage as you run increases amps to about 34 on these motors.....4 amps over...

i could put in a castle.....but i want to stay with stock parts if possible. a lot of the castle escs will run brushed or brushless.....which is cool but not for this boat.....I like to make slow...

Current motor are rated at 240watt at zero load....as i change props and gearing all is going to change esc is rated for 30 amps continuous.......motors are $19 a piece esc $104
i want it to be fast...

Yes tie the outputs with a diode so there is no possibility of back feeding the esc....../only want forward to race it..... =30amps per motor

One per motor putting out 14v.....one motor tied to one esc the ohter tied to one.....for a grand total of two bateries to each motor....should increase run time and add some stability with the othe...

Pinions were definatly set right......
Might ad another evx2 found out from Traxxas you can tie the outputs to one...

Too much power! lol Stripped one of the spur gears after two runs..lol almost imposible to drive! should have trim tabs,turn fins, and 3blade 38mmx1.4p props next week...probably should put wings on...
