RE: Eclipse 7 Shows Wrong Voltage & Won't Work

It's on its way. I must have plugged the battery in reversed polarity. Dumb!
Can you add something during the repair that will protect against reverse polarity?

Eclipse 7 Shows Wrong Voltage & Won't Work

After removing the battery and charging it, the TX now reads 15.5 volts and won't work. When shutting it off, the correct voltage is glimpsed and the servos twitch before the screen goes dark.

Motor Amps vs Watts

I have a Permax 400 6v motor on my Space Scooter that is rated for 8 amps. With a 2-cell LiPo at full throttle it draws about 7 amps at 6.5 volts, or about 45 watts. With a 3-cell LiPo I can throttle...

RE: Center of Grav on Fliton Extra 330 ARF

Huge Bruce,

I've just finished installing the elevator and rudder linkages in my Fliton 330s--what a tricky proposition with no dimensions or fuselage marks to go by. And a warning to...

RE: Potensky Eagle

Jobu, missed your post but glad to see you're flying the Eagle. I've flown mine many times with the floats on snow this winter although it gets quirky above 7-8mph breezes. Great remedy for cabin...

RE: Potensky Eagle

Ithibault, yes the stock drive is weak. There are much better options you can find by reading reviews and threads in RCU. I've been using a GWS 350c lately but will probably upgrade soon.

It's a...

RE: FOAMIE WIND LIMITS?

Dear Wollins,

Just read your 2 month old post and saw you didn't really get any recommendations for foam aircraft capable of handling landings in a good breeze. I just posted a similar request....

Help!-Foamy Needed for 10-15 mph Winds

My sub-20 ounce foam planes are just too squirelly for me to fly in the perpetual gusty breezes in the areas I fly.

I'd appreciate any recommendations for a foamie in the 3 to 5 lb range that...

RE: Potensky Eagle

Joe,

Re: the CG mark-yes the triangle is the CG; 83mm behind the leading edge at the fuselage. I got fooled at first by not realizing it was a swept back wing. If you mark the CG on the...

RE: Downlaoding new planes

Thanks, codiddley.

It seems the folder name has to be EXACTLY the same as the airplane file name or it doesn't show in the list of aircraft on AFPD.

'Owe you one for that.

RE: Potensky Eagle

Joe,

It is a fun plane and very durable. I eventually removed most of the Potensky aileron tape and installed 3 hinges on each, reinforced with patches of strapping tape in between. It's...

RE: Downlaoding new planes

To Xtra 330

I have XP, too, followed your instructions and the GS Xtra 540p did not show up in the AFPD airplane list. What did I miss?

The extracted files are all in the airplane's folder...

RE: Best Way to Learn AFPD?

Big Ned--I can fly a trainer OK either sim or real. I'm going to follow STL's suggestions to get started into 3D.

Thanks.

Best Way to Learn AFPD?

I'm a beginning 3D flyer having just set up AFPD. The aerobatic planes I've bought are a Potensky Eagle and an E-Flite Ultimate Biplane. I'd like to get help on the following:

-Whether to start...

RE: SMOKE ON & OFF

Thanks for the response. I turned smoke off early on. Tonight I removed the trees and animals from Monument Valley and tried medium texture. Got up to 75 FPS that way with the PT 40 trainer.

RE: Potensky Eagle

Hi Joe,

I'd avoid the hot rod and soldering iron ideas. I have a couple of melted areas on mine that were caused by an errant heat gun. I glued the wings on with Elmers glue and a long clamp to...

RE: Potensky Eagle

I just followed the instructions and it came out fine. You'll need to overlay their drawing on the fuselage to locate the wing. The tape for the aileron hinges didn't last very long so I changed to...

RE: Potensky Eagle

I totally agree with you on the large throws and foam vs wood. It doesn't take much throw to just fly smoothly. I've learned to set the end points on new aerobatic planes to about half throw and then...

RE: SS/Slo-v snow skis?

I'm not familiar with a slo-v but have tried several makes of skis on several planes including a Hobbico Superstar 40, a Soarstar, and a Potensky Eagle. I think you'd be much better off with floats...
