RE: Best 1/18 SC RTR?

I don't know if there's a such thing as "cheap" brushless SC. I have the Detta SC with a Castle crazy motor. I can't remember if I ever upgraded the diffs yet or not. I've never run it on a track, so...

RE: How much would you pay to join a local R/C club ?

The track that's closest to me is about 40-45 minutes away and charges a $100 yearly membership. Then it's $10-20 to race.

RE: *Official* Caldera 10E Video, Picture And Discussion Thread

Bad reviews do go with everything, that's for sure.  We ended up ordering the Ofna Hyper 10SC from Tower.

RE: Losi XXX-SCT or AE SC10 RS Procomp

I think I'm going nuclear with it as I do with every purchase...... He just runs it around the hood and we look for places at times. Frickin 4wd is the way to go, but it leaves me with the Helion....

RE: First run with LIPO - WOW - now I get it...

Welcome aboard.  I took over a year to jump on too.  Check hobbypartz as they are the cheapest I have found and Gensace's are awesome.

RE: Which Short-Course Truck for $250?

I bought our lipo/nimh charger from www.epbuddy.com for $50.  Can't beat that.  We've been looking at the Redcat Racing Caldera 10SC (4wd), the Losi XXX-SCT 2wd $199, and the Associated SC10 RS...

RE: Losi XXX-SCT or AE SC10 RS Procomp

Our local Hobbytown USA sells the XXX-SCT for $199.  No need to order that one online.  They won't match the deal from Tower on the SC10 RS for $250 though, it's $299.  The other issue with the SCT...

RE: Official ECX Torment Thread

But when you add brushless $70-$140, then new tires/wheels $30-70, you no longer have a $160 vehicle.  It is cool though that one can buy one and make it what you want it as you have the funds.  I...

RE: Losi XXX-SCT or AE SC10 RS Procomp

He could get the roller for $135 shipped, but I'm not sure there's a brushless combo in stock for $70 that would work well or not.  They don't have any of the Flysky 2.4g's either.  Then it would...

RE: Losi XXX-SCT or AE SC10 RS Procomp

fHorizon was one of many places http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/1-10-readylift-xxx-sct-rtr-LOSB0106 Also found a roller for $129- but adding a servo, rx/tx. and esc/motor would put him well over...

Losi XXX-SCT or AE SC10 RS Procomp

My son is looking for a 1/10th scale basher, may possibly get some track time. We were initially set on getting something 4wd, but his budget is $250. As far as 2wd, it seems these two are the deal....

RE: *Official* Caldera 10E Video, Picture And Discussion Thread

We have a local Redcat dealer.  I just never would have considered one based on their reputation.

RE: *Official* Caldera 10E Video, Picture And Discussion Thread

Ok, just stumbled on this RC truck, the Caldera SC. I've heard nothing but bad reports on Redcat in general, not just opinions, from LHS's who repair everything. The Caldera's, seem to have a...

RE: 13 y.o. son looking for $200 basher

Not one single Tacon that's suitable in stock.  Something is up with Hobbypartz.  We may just have to stick with RTR and he can upgrade later when he's ready.  Any real difference between the Hyper...

RE: 13 y.o. son looking for $200 basher

Yea, I thought the ESC sounded low.  We have some 2S Gensace 1800 packs for our 1/18th scalers.  Gotta link to what a Gensace that fits?  I also noticed Hobbypartz is showing out of stock on tons of...

RE: 13 y.o. son looking for $200 basher

I was just adding up the CRT path. Add or correct me if I'm wrong: CRT .5 $80, Hitech 645mg $31, battery box/servo mount from Ofna $11, motor mount $23, cheap Flysky 2.4g $30 ish. That leaves $75 for...

RE: 13 y.o. son looking for $200 basher

Well, after reading so many negative reports on inexpensive 4wd set ups, I think he's ready to seriously consider a 2wd SC or monster.  We also want the availability of different tires and parts,...

RE: 13 y.o. son looking for $200 basher

That or an ezrun system that's cheaper.  Still debating on whether we try this piecing one together or just getting one brushed rtr. Seems the short course would be a better basher.....?

RE: 13 y.o. son looking for $200 basher

Would the Castle 1410 combo be too much for the CRT .5?  http://www.castlecreations.com/products/sidewinder_sct.html  He doesn't really need on demand wheelie popping power, just something that's...

RE: 13 y.o. son looking for $200 basher

So, I think we're down to the Ofna's.  What would you guys recommend for an Ez-run BL system and servo set up?  We would probably get the Flysky 2.4 for $20 from Hobbypartz as well.  He wants to fix...
