If you need failsafe but not the expense of PCM then Multilex IPD rx are excellent also worth looking at are shultz and FMA

Rx design differs between manufacturers and often the IF frequency (which is the frequency the rx crystal operates at) differs between makes. My Multiplex equipment only works with Multiplex crystals...

Acording to Red Schofield it is fine to use two batterys of the same voltage, they do not even have to be the same capacity.

It is important to know that ALL manufacturers implementation of PCM are proprietary so you can only use fuataba PCM RXs with futaba PCM Txs or Hitec with Hitec, JR with JR etc.

There are Futaba and JR specific versions of Hitec receivers, make sure you get the right one and it will be fine.

Digital servos, especially high power ones, can draw a lot of power hence the thicker servo wiring, I'd suggest you get some thicker extention leads.

Re Bearings, DC motors are not ball raced but use a brass or phospher bronze bush, these are very long lasting.
