Switching batteries in flight.

Hi

I have a Futaba 7c. Should I be having a flight time of more than the transmitter battery can cope with, would it be possible to turn off the transmitter and replace the battery, and then...

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

I have already bought a charger, a "GT-Power Balance P6". Supposedly able to charge two 3S batteries at once, and is able to check percentages between flights. Probably everything I need.

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

Ok then. You have a lot more experience in these matters than me, so I will do as you suggest. I shall buy two of these batteries, then if I ever want more flight time I can just set them up with one...

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

The stuff from Hobbyking all seems to have fairly positive reviews and it comes out significantly cheaper than the package deal. I couldn't find any customer feedback on the items in the package.

RE: First FPV radio set.

So with this ESC I wouldn't need a receiver battery, because the BEC could act as one?

Having just looked a bit at possible transmitter/receiver sets it seems like the most popular band is...

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

Why do you suggest the smaller battery? Will the extra weight of the larger one make the capacity improvements not worth it?

Fantastic, Thanks!

RE: First FPV radio set.

Brilliant.

While I'm here, what is the purpose of a receiver battery, is it just a separate small cell that powers the receiver independently of the main power?

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

Hving browsed Hobbyking a bit more The batteries seem to be much cheaper than their UK counterparts. A larger battery would be nice.

These all seem very similar in specification

First FPV radio set.

Hi

I'm hoping to get started in fpv soon. I was thinking about getting a futaba 7c here. Along with the charger. Is this a suitable set for a first time fpv pilot?

Thanks.

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

Wow, that's much cheaper. If only hobbycity ran a uk site. Is there a good uk equivalent?
Although after postage (just over 1kg) and adding in the cost of the twinstar kit it nearly the same price....

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

Thanks very much. I shall read this now.

I haven't got a great deal of experience flying. I have an Art-tech cessna 500 with a few successful flights (and a few unsuccessful landings)....

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

At the moment I have a very simple lipo charger, just a wall wart connected to a box with a dial going from 0.3c to 1c and a led to indicate charging has finished. This came with a rtf plane and is...

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

Surely it could run for half the time at full power, or half power for the full time? But not half on both.

Would it be worth buying a larger battery for this aircraft then? Or using two...

RE: Is this a scam, or a good deal?

These motors say that they are compatible with the Twinstar. However two of those and two speed controllers will cost about £200. Are these of a better quality to these motors (the 1300 version)...

Is this a scam, or a good deal?

Hi

I'm looking to get a Twinstar 2. I have heard good things about a brushless motor upgrade for this plane, I have even heard that it might be cheaper to go brushless from the beginning,...

RE: Art-Tech Cessna 182 500 class

I'm glad to see it wasn't a terrible choice. Art-Tech seems to manufactures spare parts for the planes too.

I probably made the thread title a bit misleading. What would be useful would be a few...

RE: altmeter, speedomeer and other instrumentaion platform.

I have posted a similar thread here (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=53353).
It seems to have gone in the direction of providing a HUD for the pilot. So the pilot still watches the plane from...

RE: OUT OF STOCK

If the store can get you to visit their site in any way, there is a chance that you might buy something else.
I suppose that having plenty of planes for sale leads to better results when indexed by...

altmeter, speedomeer and other instrumentaion platform.

Hi

I was thinking about how model aircraft differ from real aircraft. One thing that struck me was how in a real airfcraft, one has access to a multitude of information about the plane's state....

Howdy all

I am hoping to get into model plane flying (and building (eventually)). I have purchased an Art-TechCessna182, the 500 class. It should be arriving on Monday so at the moment, I'm just...
