RE: Raptor 90 3D Project

Hey folks, got a question:

What do I have to do to my Raptor 903D to lose weight?? It's at 11lbs, 5 oz, and I'd like it under 10lbs. Here's my equipment:

Raptor 903D kit
Radix 690 mains...

RE: raptor 50 servos (i don't know what im doing)

Good golly, I don't think everyone read my post. I was saying you CAN run a 6v pack IF you regulate it. Credence, your 2nd post basically said the exact same thing I did in my very first post on...

RE: Hawk pro is Kinetic 50?

I just got a Kinetic 50, and flew flights 2-5 today with no crashes (my first heli!!) I love it. And later on, I'll get some of the upgrades that would "turn it into a Raven". I've noticed the...

RE: raptor 50 servos (i don't know what im doing)

I have a 5625 on my collective for a Kinetic 50, and it's rock solid.

Beware on the running 6v, though. I generally like to run 6v for the extra speed & torque, but most gyros can't handle it,...

RE: OMP Fusion Picture Gallery

I know, it's pretty plain, but my favorite flyer so far. Hovers are cool, but harrier'ing into one is awesome!

RE: Fusion 90 building question?

I moved my batt to the front of the wing & put a 13oz tank on. Balances right about 8". Maybe a weee bit to forward for my liking. I think if I go for the plastic spinner, I'll be ok. This plane...

RE: Fusion 90 building question?

You know I would move it forward a bit, but I kind of like it now. Flat spins are great and hovers are easy. This thing blenders really well. Like I said, it's only when I'm just about empty that...

RE: Fusion 90 building question?

Flight Report: WOW! I flew 4 flights and was hovering, blendering, knife edge outside circles, & rolling circles by the 3rd one!!! It flies so smooth it was almost TOO good to be true! Knife edge...

RE: Fusion 90 building question?

It's done!! I woke up this morning with the plane half covered, and I decided I was going to fly it tomorrow. Worked on it ALL day, but it's done. Came in at 7lbs, 7oz dry. I have my 91FX mounted...

RE: Choice 2 stroke for a 67" Fusion

The plane's designer, Mike Pilkington has said on these forums that a 1.60 is waaay too much power and weight for this plane, which I'd heartily agree. You'd have to zip tie the battery to the...

RE: Choice 2 stroke for a 67" Fusion

I am almost ready to cover my Fusion 67", and I already bought an OS 91FX to go in it. I love OS engines, and I've always heard great things about the 91. That's what OMP is using in their videos. ...

RE: OS engines overrated?

I know I've had a 46FX for over 3 years now and it's still a big ol' beast. I've adjusted the needles about 3 times over this past season, only because of temp changes. Does it ever quit? Only...

RE: Fusion 90 building question?

Well, not much thread activity here, but hey its winter time. I'm just about done with the structures. Everything went pretty well, except for a few goofs (like forgetting to add in the control...

RE: Fusion 90 building question?

That's cool. I epoxied the rest of the fuse on tonight so I'm ready for the servo rails tomorrow. On the days I work I don't get much done!!! Where's the lottery winnings when you need 'em?

RE: Fusion 90 arf or kit?

Mike, why the difference? I've built stick-sheet profiles and they're no harder than foam cores. In fact, with the stick-sheet, you don't have to worry about what glue you use so really it's...

RE: GSP Katana 72"...DETAILED BUILD and 3D FLIGHT REPORT

Well, it survived 4 flights so far!!! I had a timing issue with my weedeater engine, so I was only running about 7200rpm max power!!! It was like flying a Piper Cub at 1/2 throttle!!!!! I'm...

RE: GSP Katana 72"...DETAILED BUILD and 3D FLIGHT REPORT

Chris,

I had pondered about that, but decided I had enough for a gasoline engine. I do have 1/8" standoffs on my cowl mounting screws, so there is a bit of a gap on 3 sides of the cowl. I'm...

RE: GSP Katana 72"...DETAILED BUILD and 3D FLIGHT REPORT

Here's some pics of my ready-to-fly Katana. I used Monokote Dark Blue, and as you can see, it's a bit too dark for the cowl. I'll probably pick up some paint to match eventually. I'm taking it out...

RE: GSP Katana 72"...DETAILED BUILD and 3D FLIGHT REPORT

Well, it's almost done (just got to re-cover the hatch portion from cutting it out, bolt on the canopy, mount the radio switch & fill it full of gas). AUW is 12.0lbs dry with my 25cc gasser. I...

RE: GSP Katana 72"...DETAILED BUILD and 3D FLIGHT REPORT

Well, even though it seems this thread is dead, I just bought a CSP Katana. Couldn't beat $200 for a 6ft plane. I'm going the cheap way with a 25cc weedeater engine, converted to EI. The plane...

RE: OS 46FX help

Jaka,

While I appreciate the tips & info on how to set up an engine, it just doesn't make sense to me that an engine will run for 1 1/2 years, and then crap out because it was running too lean. ...
