Other than maxamps I don't know of anyone that sells RC packs for "hundreds". However some of the higher priced packs are simplybetter.

It can handle 4S in series, just adjust the gearing and runtimes accordingly.  The starting votlage for a 6-cell Nimh pack is greater than that of a 2S lipo pack, so if 12 Nimh cells are OK then 4S...

I inquired and was told to wait, the packs were out of stock and I forgot about them for awhile.  Months later I remembered and inquired again, they said they had no record of the sale.

SPC Racing (http://www.spcracing.com/) sells a good 5000 mah lipo for under $50 and a 6000 hardcase that will fit.

I agree withFoamyVictim, a brushed motor will benifit froma good battery pack...

You absolutely do not need a 30C battery for the VLX sysem. I own two of them, one in a VXL Pede and the other in a Slash 4x4 PE and a 5000 20C pack works very well forboth.

SPC sells a really nice Lipo that would be perfect for your application,it is a 2800 20c and cost $29 something. It is shaped like a stick pack so itshould fit anywhere a nicad and nimh pack fits.
