RE: Walkera CB180Z Gears

Peter,

Just take your time and dive in. Be sure to dismantle in very good light and have a safe place to put the little peices. A magnet is a good thing to have handy to keep the screws together...

RE: Walkera 180Z Servos

Thats what I was afraid of. I went ahead and ordered new servos from WOW Hobbies. All the small servos I found online looked like they mounted differently. My next heli will be a 450 clone. I think...

Question: Are the cyclic servos on this bird proprietory or can I buy others? What size are they? What do you recommend? I can buy them as a pair...

RE: New CB180Z

The mods I mentioned above are working very well. I also put a bit of grease on all the gears. I've put 10-12 batts on it since then with no problems. Give it a go-Jeff

RE: Walkera suggestion for outdoors use, begginner pilot.

I have a 180Z Wind Rider Pro from Wow Hobbies. It is the only heli I've owned so take my info for what it's worth. As far as I can tell, the 'Wind Rider' mod is simply longer servo arms on the cyclic...

RE: Creata 400 Servo ?

Mr Smiley,

I do not have the Creata 400 but I think I know what's up. My Walkera 180Z has a gyro and I believe yours does too. This causes the tail to stay as you directed it until you center it....

RE: Walkera CB180Z Gears

OK.... don't laugh. I used Triple Antibiotic Cream!! It has a Petrolatum base. I think it's the same as Vaseline but clear. I'm sure the antibiotic has curative effects for helis...

RE: Walkera CB180Z Gears

I have stripped no gears or broken the tail shaft since making the mods I suggested. I greased the gears when rebuilding. I have crashed several times since then, once destroying the canopy, ripping...

RE: Walkera CB180Z Gears

My gear fix seems to work fine, however I got a bit cocky and crashed in the house. Unfortunately I didn't get off the throttle fast enough and stripped the main gear. Parts are on the way.

As far...

RE: Fixed wing pilot looking to get a hopticopter.

I to am an old fixed wing flier who decided to give it a go.  I didn't have anyone here to mentor me so I just took the plunge.  I started with a Walkera 180Z and have had good success.  It's easy...

RE: Walkera V200D01

Read my info on the 180z thread above. Ibelieve the gears are the same and an easy fix.

As far as the left drift, I was going through the same think a week ago with my 180z. I'm told they all do...

RE: Walkera CB180Z Gears

I ended up cutting a 2-3mm collar or bushing from a stripped gear, installing it on the forward end of the tail shaft, and then the gear itself. I have flown several times since including some wrecks...

RE: Walkera CB180Z Gears

Maybe I posted in the wrong thread. I'm new. I posted about my experience with the gear issue in the other 180Z thread.

RE: New CB180Z

I am new to the forum and to helis but I think I've got a good solution for the gear issue on the 180Z. I bought mine a week ago and have been having a great time with it. I have no experience with...
