Small batteries in big cars?

Can you use 1/3A kan cells in a larger RC? I was looking at them and despite being 1100mah they offer a good deal of power for weight. If I drop my 7cell kan pack into my friends Dagger (1/12 I...

RE: is this normal? (pics inside)

I got a buddy who leaves his minit butt hanging out and pulls wheelies all over the road. It seems to be holding up ok (that's pretty think round metal so it should last a while) and he doesn't use...

RE: epoch indoor racer

I got 2 Epcohs, one spec 2 and one Spec 1.5 (Speed racer set). I say go for a speed racer set, they go for about $30, the electronics and design is a little inferior to spec 2 but they still drive...

RE: xmods vs miniz

I was busy typing that while you replied correcting yourself and I had to take the time to make sure I didn't miss a huge part of automotive histroy and researched whether Supras ever had a rotarty...

RE: xmods vs miniz

A word is considered derogotory or racist if it's meaning can be achieved easily using another word that is unmistakeably less offensive. If you can supply a word for "ricers" that describes what I...

RE: xmods vs miniz

If you guys want to think of the word ricer in only it's derogotory manner go ahead, but what makes a word a bad thing is when peopel think it means a bad thing. Want to change it? Stop...

RE: xmods vs miniz

First off a ricer, while originally a derogotory comment towars the origin of the people who tend to soup up a cars looks far and above it's performance, is now a legitimate term referring to any...

RE: xmods vs miniz

The cheap light kit is a nice move on RS part, then again, it's nothing more than a tiny PCB, 4 LEDs and some wire... so cheap is relative....

But don't run with lights for anything but show,...

RE: Driftin the Micro

Wrap your tires in electrical tape, I can get mine to drift like crazy...

And with electrical tape you can actually use higher gears because you don't need as much power to break free, this...

RE: xmods vs miniz

I don't think a regular servo is gonna work on an Xmod, it might but I don't know if the way the stepper works in the Xmod is compatible.

Yeah the thing is the the Iwaver comes with a rippoff Kyosho controller that works pretty darn well and has all the features the miniz controller has. I admit a good...

VMG weird steering, drifts

For the most part I either drive my Giant on smooth turf, or rough, but rarely cross over during a single drive. I noticed today that I seemed to have to to adjust my ST TR a lot. It turns out that...

RE: xmods vs miniz

You know in every other setup RWD is always the best to corner, but I think the original reason I came up with AWD being better is that the fronts on my car didn't hookup worth crap, and having them...

RE: xmods vs miniz

Actually soft springs up front will help the turning, grippier tires will also help and the AWD (leave out the LSD) will also help. But it will never be great at cornering. With some serious work...

RE: xmods vs miniz

Dunno how this wasn't covered by now, but the XMOD CAN NOT use standard radio gear. This is one of the huge faults in the xmod. It uses a stepper system for about 16 steps of propo steering, not...

RE: different pinion on mini giant

I got them on, the problem wasn't getting at the motor, it was that the hole in the gears was actually so small I couldn't get it to go on the shaft. I ended up taking some old race tin motors, and...

Did you have trouble getting your pinion gear on? No matter what I do I can't get any of the gears to fit that Venom sent me. The stock one obviously does, but the other ones are so tight I just...

RE: no need for battery recharging

This will not work well. General rule of enery consumption, some energy is lost in the process of transfer. Put simply, even if you took a battery, hooked it to a motor, hooked that to a generator,...

RE: xmods vs miniz

Ack Fremont... why can't there be a reasonable track less than half a tank of gas away from me? Is that track the offroad one or the onroad one? I might have to try it at least once if it's offroad.

RE: xmods vs miniz

BTW My xmod is also a 6 Cell forgot to mention, so a 6 cell with all hopups is roughly equal to a mini z with bearings.

Bovine I sure am!!! Actually I have never seen another Devedander...
