RE: West 50V1 fuel?

Running mine on Coolpower 15%. Had two new bearing sets in its life (it's 4 years old now, one of the first ones made) but other than that it's all original and still runs great.

RE: tuning a vmax 46, HELP!!!! please!

Sounds to me like your clunk line is too long, and when you hold it vertical the clunk is sucking on the back wall of the tank. I normally go for about 1/4 inch clearance. That or the clunk line...

RE: Best color for helicopter

I also find orange/yellow works really well, with white blades are easier than black, although I think the RADIX blades look amazing. They fly well too. Here is one of my helis, a Fury 60 Expert,...

RE: Tail rotor drive pully difference

I upgraded my 30 to the white driven tail pulley, purley because I dont like having no control over the tail in autos. Still autos fine, only takes a little away from the mains (SAB 550's), but if...

RE: MAGNUM VIDEOS

Weston recommend cutting 1" of off for running 8x8, leave it as is for 8x9 and 8x10. I run an 8x10, and its ballisitc, definitely the best prop I've had for outright speed, but maybe a bit trickier...

RE: Fitting carbon blades

No, Carbon Blades are made as a matched pair, so balancing is not necessary. Just bolt them on and fly. You may need to adjust throttle & pitch curves slightly, as the carbon blades are more...

RE: British weather

Tell me about it, I haven't flown in two weeks (apart from a few quick goes on Reflex). Starting to get withdrawal symptoms. (Doing some long overdue building!!)

RE: Venus 40 balancing question

I'm running an Irvine 61 2-stroke, with the battery just in front of the servos. It's slightly nose heavy, but nothing extreme. We only have a 50m grass strip to fly from, and I have no problems...

RE: Raptor 60 paddles?

Just a drop of cyano will hold them, that's all I used.

RE: Last Adren Flight.... video

That was brilliant!!! Certainly one of the most novel ways to retire an aircraft. Any photo's of the airframe after the decommissioning ceremony?

RE: MagnumR question

I didn't measure the CG on my MagnumR, but I put the battery in the back of the main bay (underneath the wing-bolt nut) like it says in the instructions and with no lead on the plane. It flies...

RE: OS C Spec. or YS 91

The YS and MP2 are a great combination, even only running on Coolpower 15% its awesome!! It's not overly noisy either and I haven't touched the needles in over a year.

RE: OS C Spec. or YS 91

Another vote here for the YS91, I've got one in a Fury Extreme, with the CY Muscle Pipe 2. It's got about the same performance as my mates Fury with OS C-spec but the YS is more reliable and more...

RE: Weston Groove battery location

My battery is up the front with an Irvine 53 for power, my cg is at 175mm. I also have the elevator sevo mounted outside the fuselage just infront of the tail.

RE: electronics pics anyone?

The red plug goes in the receiver, the black socket connects to the battery and the other plug is for your charger lead to connect to.

RE: installing new Belt

When the main rotor is turned the correct way the tail rotor should turn so that the front blade (when horizontal) moves upwards. This is to make it as effective as possible as it moves upwards in...

RE: west 50 v1

I think the bearing set, new piston and new liner (they got worn too - same problem as Rudeboy's) came to about £60 or £70 direct from WestonUK. I couldn't tell you much just a bearing set was. ...

RE: west 50 v1

Here in Guernsey the sea is about 400 yards from our site, and surrounds about 2 thirds of the site. When my first Magnum some had kind of failure, it crashed. Completly destroyed the plane and...

RE: west 50 v1

I've never heard of one blowing up, but if you get one make sure it has the ceramic bearings, otherwise they'll only last a season or so before they need replacing. After the bearings in mine wore...

RE: Magnum and DD Video

Cool Vid! I've found the best prop for the Magnum on my westy is an APC 8x10 on 15% nitro without modifying the pipe.

RE: Drifting left!!!!

When you say 'veer' does it move to the left, or spin anticlockwise? If it is veering left, you will need to adjust your aileron cyclic trim to the right. The reason for this is the air from the...

RE: Capiche 50 as second plane ?

Another vote for the C50, if kept light and flown on low rates, an absolute doddle to fly. Probably the easiest kit I have ever built too. Can't fault the Wot 4 either though. Choices, choices. If...

RE: Im flying a DOG!!!!

I'm not familiar with JR gyros, but it sounds like the Gain setting is to high. Try decreasing it a bit at a time until the wagging stops.

RE: Digtal Servos Help

I know that Futaba Digitals do run the battery down fairly quick. I have a Heli with 5 futaba digis on a 2000 mah pack. Only get 2-3 flights usually about 12-14 mins a flight before I recharge.
