RE: paint chipping

yeah use light coats, even though it may seem transparent from the inside I've found out however from looking the outside in the sunshine it's not. that way when the body flexes, a thinner coat of...

RE: []TEX[] & Lunchboxer's Spec Race Build Diary-Suzuki Swift M03

I just realized the wheels are also scaled down. Are you guys running 1/10th tc wheels/tires to make for a higher roll out?

Running the smaller diameter tires seems to hurt speeds by as much as...

RE: []TEX[] & Lunchboxer's Spec Race Build Diary-Suzuki Swift M03

Yeah I will try to update whenever I can to keep the spirit of the M-03 alive!!

I was trying to source the instruction manual online but I didn't find it. Is the stock spur/pinion: 37/20? (or...

RE: []TEX[] & Lunchboxer's Spec Race Build Diary-Suzuki Swift M03

Alright that's it... reading all this M-03 madness (esp. all in one sitting!) is just giving me more anxiety. Looks like I'm going to have to do an Brushless M-03R for myself as well. Now the...

RE: Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

So your saying if I bake a donut from dough to bread (an example which has evidently a large thermal expansion coefficient) and measuring the inner hole diameter before and after the process you are...

RE: Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

I'm pretty sure from what I've already stated and somewhat experimented shows that I've already got more 'nerve' than your claims. In addition to that now it seems you somehow suddenly 'claim' to...

RE: Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

Yeah I just thought of an experiment of how to test it (with adequate lubrication too). I'll see if I ever get around to it as it's interesting that nobody knows and I'd like to see documented data....

RE: Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

And the reason nitro engine seizures are far and between (I'm assuming seizure primarily attributed to oil starvation) I'm thinking is partly due to the benefits of caster oil. Some tidbits of...

RE: Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

Iamnot - W/o looking it up, I'm assuming the sleeve's thermal expansion is greater than that of the piston to allow the relaxation of the taper during normal operation.

The last time I checked...

RE: Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

How about this... anybody tune their engines for power regardless of how high the temperatures get? I used to do this all the time with an older OS .15 cv. It would perform ~300 w/o problems. ...

RE: how long dose an engine last

I'd say it really depends on how much time you spend at the top of the rpms. I bashed my car on parking lots and I threw a rod at 4 gallons. The sleeve was good but those connecting rods really get...

RE: Anyway to get water out of wheels?

if it's got venting holes it'll dry out over time. Maybe warm them up in a oven? Clothes Dryer (on the rack)? Just an idea.

RE: Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

Thanks for the experience input Associated Driver.

My engine doesn't have a worn sleeve however I was trying to determine if the ABC metals still continued to expand at the higher operating...

RE: What are some good ways to remove this damn stripped hex screw !!

I suggest you pony it up now and get yourself a Dremel. The proper tools for the right job goes a long way!

Does high temperatures bring back engine compression?

I know the sleeve taper relaxes at a certain temperature window for designed operation. I know it can begin as early as 200 F but does anybody know (research?) at what point is the engine too hot...

RE: A nitro car turbo has is been thought of

*Sigh* ... you'd think people would at least understand their engine operation fundamentals before posting stuff like this by now...

Let's not to say that they probably haven't gone out of their...

RE: Wheelspin and reverse donuts

how about have your cake and eat it too? Invest in brushless technology and you will have amazing torque, rpms, and increased efficiency to boot! Castle creations has shown me the light.

RE: Brushless efficiency?

7700 will be less efficient in that case. Think about it, is your gasoline engine efficient running at 2000 rpms or redline?? I'm assuming that the 7700 is geared lower to take advantage of the...

RE: Nitro Engine Care And Breaking In/Starting Instructions

Wow that's exactly what I just recently did with my TRX 2.5. ;) And I thought I was the only one with this train of thought taking the extra measures.

Integy Twin Exhaust Review

We already know how crappy the Twin Exhaust systems are for our nitro rides but Integy's has got to be teh absolute WORST!

If you note the placement of the pressure nipple it is absolutely at...

I have the stupid Integy one and now I'm kinda regretting it. I've read poor'er performance but the real kicker is that it's ungodly LOUD! It makes your ears bleed in pain. I'm still breaking in...
