RE: Building a Buggy Eating Savage

However the original plan was to take on a buggy so at some point i will need to get...

RE: K 5.9 really that bad

When the 5.9 blows in my XL i will replace with the same engine.
Its been consistent, easy to tune albeit with the temperature issue. I dont tune it to temperature, i get it right by smoke and...

RE: savage x 4.6

From his first reply I thought he was trolling. Making multiple posts to get a response.
Either that or this is the most pointless thread this year.
He does not want the truck or want to fix it,...

RE: savage xl, will this fit( body) need fast help!!!

The green truck is an XL, the yellow is a savage i am building for grass tracks. The yellow is the standard Savage length, so shorter than the XL, but gets its extra width from having XL axles and...

RE: savage xl, will this fit( body) need fast help!!!

Thanks dude.

No, its a clear shell but cutting and painting is not difficult. I am probably the least artistic person i know. If a can do a reasonable job on a shell then anyone can. I buy a...

RE: savage xl, will this fit( body) need fast help!!!

I have just fitted a Pro-Line Flotek body on a savage.
If the front wheels didn't have a big offset they would rub on the shell.
My savage has the xl width.
I will see if I can upload a...

RE: K 5.9 really that bad

I must be lucky with my 5.9 too. Never had a problem with it.
It does run hotter than all my other engines but even after a lot of use compression is still perfect.
I find the engine is best when...

RE: 3 speed settings

Depends on how you want the truck to perform.
I start with the gearing set to the shortest possible and work from there.

RE: Purchasing first Savage XL Nitro - With upgrades

Congrats on the purchase. You will be in for a lot of fun, and just as much work!
Regarding screws I use loctite once and screws seem to tighten well even after removal and refitting.
I check all...

RE: Building a Buggy Eating Savage

Thanks Yakfish, I'm pleased with it so far.
The engine is awesome when tuned properly. It pulls wheelies easily and the acceleration is impressive for a savage.
The shell is the Landrover...

RE: Building a Buggy Eating Savage

Yes, both the extended cups and shocks are a direct fit. No additional parts were needed.
The rear springs are not stiff enough to hold the weight properly, hence the silicone tube compressing the...

RE: Building a Buggy Eating Savage

As i mentioned earlier im only doing this for fun rather than an all out serious attempt at beating buggies.
I dont race in any organised events, the only competitiveness is between friends.
If...

RE: Building a Buggy Eating Savage

Sway bars fitted last night.
When it ran without the sway bars I had to get up to a pretty good speed to flip the truck on a corner.
I'm still to get the wheel alignment spot on and still using...

RE: servo advice.

Savox SC1256. I use this in my XL with Big Joe wheels.
Tighten the servo saver so there is still enough play when pressure loads on the servo.
My XL is modded for hill climbs but the Savox works...

RE: Its been a while

As I just mentioned in my thread I got a Picco X28 which is a P3 with low profile heat sink and turbo head.
Cheaper than the P3 too.
Awesome engine with bags of power.
