The packs are 3000mah. Both chargers say "Only 7-Cell NiMH battery packs should be used with this charger". I'm not sure if it is a load voltage or not, it's just what it says on the label.

More likely, "USA made" means they use cells that are made in China and then assemble them into packs here in the US.

Not sure really, it didn't come with any documentation (cheap, on ebay, from china). But the solid red LED is different than the typical low-voltage warning where they all blink red.

I was running my Stampede 4x4 (upgraded with a Mamba Max Pro and Castle 2400kv) using a Turnigy 3s 25-35C burst pack. I had already run it for a while, i'd guess I was maybe 2/3rds the way through...

Not really... All you have to do is drop in the high-speed pinion (which is included) and a 3s LiPo. The high-speed pinion is pretty tough on the motor but during actual high-speed runs it's not...

I don't see how the Lipo could have damaged the ESC.  Although keep in mind that a fully charged 2s will be around 8.4v even though people commonly refer to the packs as 7.4v packs.  8.4v still...
