Correct, and since these players want to transport people ( not inanimate products) the case can be made that there will be no room for an RC airplane in any airspace.

Hundreds of millions of dollars invested from the likes of Porsche, Boeing, and Toyota suggest to me there will eventually be no uncontrolled airspace, from 0 AGL to the stratosphere.

There will be no overcoming this...

It's not just Amazon, FedEx, etc. This is from the WSJ a couple of weeks ago.

IT’S NOT THAT helicopters aren’t safe; it’s that they are not safe enough.

A crash like the one that killed...

They could restrict these regulations to "drones" with GPS, but they won't. It will be far easier to regulate everyone in the hobby to extinction in order to please those corporate interests that...

Yes, but obtaining FAA recognition is an issue. It appears this must be applied for within a limited time frame, and approval is at the whim of the FAA. Denial= a closed field.

I'm a little confused about availability. Will you sell direct to a customer (ie me) in the US? I just saw the unfortunate news regarding Andy Kane.

That’s stating the obvious, isn’t it?

I’ll fly on my own land at my own risk. Those of you who believe the government cares about this hobby are naive. Fields are shutting down already. The new...

Yes, eventually the FAA will kill this hobby. I'll still fly, though, but I'll likely have to buy my own piece of land to do so.

They are doing one more short run on both the Mustang and the Wildcat if anyone still has interest.

RE: Thunderbird Idaho Ejection

Lowlevlflyer,

Just to dig up an old thread...The Thunderbirds never have used the HGU-33, from my subsequent research (I asked). Although the helmet looks like an HGU-33 (Navy helmet), it's...

RE: A little bird told me...

I think most people do "get it". I build and fly giant scale warbirds, but I pick up the occasional ARF for quick and painless flying from time-to-time. Personally, my frustration is that this forum...

RE: Bob Holman/Brian Taylor ?

Personally, I feel if you've built at least one kit to completion, a plans-built plane of the size you're considering is definitely doable. You may make a few mistakes, but they will become evident...

RE: Yellow Aircraft Zero Owners

I have one with a G-45, and it requires cutouts for the cylinder head and muffler.

RE: Yellow P47 Build up

As far as kill switches, I use a two position toggle switch with the positive lead to the magneto and the negative to ground, and I mount the switch where I can get at it quickly and safely.

RE: BUILDING WARBIRDS

Someone might be willing to lay down that kind of cash for plane that is a proven contest winner, but I suspect you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who will do it up front for a plane that hasn't...

RE: Sierra Precision retracts?

I agree with Thompson. Worrying that the rotation speed for gear on a 60" MODEL AIRPLANE doesn't appear "scale" is a joke. It's a model, and will never fool anyone into thinking it's the real thing. ...

RE: 80" + span - what wing bolts

I use nylon bolts 100% of the time, including my big warbirds, and don't consider it a risky move, since I've never had one fail in the 15 years I've been in this hobby.

RE: Yellow aircraft Wheels / Tyre fitting

As mentioned earlier, I just purchased new tires for mine. For the price we pay for these things, we shouldn't have to make jigs just to screw the wheels together.

RE: Reponse from Sierra

Never say anything you don't want repeated whether via the forum or a PM. I realize it's probably embarassing to have one's true character revealed on an open forum, but that's the way it goes.

RE: Fiberglass Fuse - What's Next? Ju 87D-5 Stuka?

If you're going to start from scratch, I'd vote for the LA-9. If so, are you thinking of just developing a scale fuse, or the whole plane? If it will be just the fuse, then I think basing it on an...
