I'm looking to spend no more than $300 for an on-road rc. I wouldlike toget a kit without any electronics since I already have a couple brushless systems laying around. I will NOT be racing this....

RE: Lipo vs Ni-Mh

Lipo is definitely worth getting. I waiting to get them until a year or so ago because I couldn't justify switching over from the dozen nimh batteries I already had, but after I did I wished I would...

RE: motor kv question stampede castle

It was roughly 45 degress F. outside. I went up to an 18t pinion and it did just fine, motor and ESC temps under 100 F. My CM-36 4600kv seemed to overheat alot easier, I'm really glad Igot a1406,...

RE: motor kv question stampede castle

Well, I geared down to 16/87 gearing and I can run a full 7.4 lipo 70c while keeping ALL temps under 100 degrees F. Haven't tried 3s yet, maybe tomorrow, but I thinkCastlewas right in saying that the...

motor kv question stampede castle

I've been running a Castle Sv2 with a CM-36 4600kv caslte motor. My LHS had a good deal so I got a Castle Sv3 (waterproof Sv2) and 5700kv 1406 4-pole motor (it's the lowest they had, supposedly the...

RE: 25c vs 70c lipo

Thanks for the replies. I run mostly 5000mah to 5600mah packs, so I guess I won't notice much of a difference. But hey, 50% off so I can't complain! I may drop in a mamba monster someday in the...

RE: Stampede 2wd diff question

Besides adjusting the shocks I turned up the punch/traction control setting on my ESC and it's helped ALOT. I usually use no punch control, but I tested the lowest, low, medium, and high settings...

RE: Stampede 2wd diff question

Thanks for the advice everyone. I thickened up the diff oil which helped keep it steady when the front lifts up. I added a 1/4 inch limiter to the rear shocks which helped A TON as far as keeping the...

Stampede 2wd diff question

I've been trying to get some speed runsin with my 2wd Stampede but I can't keep the front end down. I don'tthink adding weight would make a big difference. My problem isit gets pretty unstable and...

RE: Mechanical VS Electronic SC

When I switched over to an ESC in my 99' Stampede, I don't recall noticing any less torque than with the stock MSC.  That was long ago and I haven't dealt with a MSC in 10 years lol.  I think with an...

RE: best brushed

I once put a 12t 540 in a Tazer 15t (15t limit) and fried it within a couple minutes.  The Tazer 15t esc is a cheapo, but I still wouldn't risk it with an xl-5.   Since you've got it ordered already,...

RE: brushless motor ?

I would agree, you don't want to go much over a 3500kv motor in a Slash 4x4. Higher kv motors are more for onroad cars with small wheels, you won't get nearly the torque needed to push a Slash 4x4....

Check out www.rcmania.com

RE: Converting T-Maxx to E-Maxx

Yeah I decided I'll probably just sell it or keep it and get a 3.3 or something. For how much it would cost for a decent 1/8 brushless setup it would probably cost more than a Savage Flux.

Converting T-Maxx to E-Maxx

I'm acquiring a mint condition T-Maxx from a friend for $100. It's an older .15 pro model but has many upgrades on the chassis and looks brand new (we rebuilt EVERYTHING). I'm not much of a nitro guy...

RE: Sidewinder on Rustler VXL

The Sv2 ESC with 4600kV motor is a good match for your Rustler. I have one in my Stampede and Rusty and it works great, though I'm not much of a basher, I generally drive onroad and on dirt/gravel....

RE: Tires / Gearing

You'll want to throw in a smaller pinion to make up for the larger tires. If you add smaller tires then you need to gear up to make up for the smaller radius. As far as whether the wheels are too...

I found a mint electric 4-tec for $40. The guy said he bought new for cheap after they were discontinued but didn't like onroad cars. Everything is stock. I have a couple brushless systems ready to...

Good work man! Too bad you didn't get the name of the guy who stole them. That was good thinking to throw them up on Craigslist, I think people sell alot of stolen things there, therefore it was...

RE: Removing paint off of rc body

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eP-3lP5OD8

THis guy uses Dot 3 brake fluid, not Dot 4. I don't know if there is a difference. It really looks like a pain in the butt, I know I'd probably just get...
