Stay away from these RotoFlow tanks if your setup is for gas. The are useless when used with gas. Those "aerospace seals" (which are two blue rubber o-rings" get sticky within a few weeks and then...

RE: Saito FG-30 gas troubles

The first two minutes of my test flight went very well, although the slight "hiccup" when doing a roll or any other high(ish)-G manouver was still there.  And then - DISASTER !  It started sounding...

RE: Saito FG-30 gas troubles

After fixing the problems with the intake manifold I took it to the field for a test flight.  It performed flawlessly for the first part of the flight but then started missing e beat now and then....

RE: Saito FG-30 gas troubles

Ok - I tested it and was much better, but still started running lean and overheated after enough time. There were symptoms of fuel starvation -
almost as if the pump did not suck in enough gas.

RE: Saito FG-30 gas troubles

I think I may have found yet another design problem on the FG-30. I modified mine to take a OS GT33 ignition and hall pickup. That made one hell of an improvement, but it's only good for about 1...

RE: shortening diodes

To be honest, I don't know how often this can be a problem.  I have read about incidents though, where people said that it's mostly digital servo's that are capable of kicking back the most energy. ...

RE: Taylorcraft crash

Just a word on "gripping area" -
I recently got a 30% 50cc Yak54 from Pilot RC.  When I screwed in the wing bolts (it has two per wing), I tightened them very hard the first tine to see if the will...

RE: shortening diodes

What jaka said is very important to take note of.

If there's no diode connected, then the battery absorbs any back-emf or energy "pulse"coming back from a servo and the pulse does not cause the...

SAITO FG-30 4-stroke gas engine ignition

I gave up trying to get my Saito FG-30 engine to run reliably without stuttering and the occasional dead stick, because nothing I tried ever seemed to improve things.

One of the things that I at...

SAITO FG-30

I have two Saito FG-30 engines. Ipurchased them because Ilike gas engines and Saito advertises this engine as having THE SAME power output as their FA-180 glow engine WHICH IS A BLATANT LIE.
They...

RE: GAS Saito

At last I got my FG-30 to run quite well with the metering lever left at default height, after a very frustrating tuning process.  The one thing I noticed was that the only way to get smooth...

RE: GAS Saito

Hey guys
I have read about the issue with those arrogant apes at Horizon refusing to disclose any information about the Walbro WYD carb on the FG-30, and the biggest issue seems to be the default...
