RE: Looking for Corsair tail wheel build

Hi. Here is one I built from 1/8th plywood, for a Kyosho Corsair (roughly the size of the Top Flite 60 size). I have a set of Brian Taylor 1/6 corsair plans, and I reduced the tailwheel plan down...

RE: Take A Tour Through a Corsair Graveyard

Thanks for all of the pictures....these are invaluable to me as there is no Corsair nearby where I live. I am getting ready to build a scale Brian Taylor.

RE: Best engine for 1/5 Scale Corsair questions...

2700 rpm on a huge prop should give you plenty of power. The disc diameter more than compensates for the higher rpm of a smaller prop. Real airplane props (most) only run about 2700 rpm...and at...

RE: Best engine for 1/5 Scale Corsair questions...

Thanks NCIS. You used to be able to get a reduction drive for the g-62, called the TorqMaster or something like that. It was a belt drive, I believe, and you could get different pulleys to reduce...

Best engine for 1/5 Scale Corsair questions...

Hi folks.

Wondering what everybody has to say about the best engine for a 1/5 corsair. I am gearing up to build a Brian Taylor Corsair, though I have blown the plans 120 percent, so it's true...

RE: Calling All P-40 guyz (need some scale advice)

Chickenhawk;

I shouldn't have any trouble getting photos of the top of his P-40. Right now he has it mounted on a kind of jig where the tail and firewall are secured to a swivel, so you...

RE: Calling All P-40 guyz (need some scale advice)

Naval flight officer:

You'd be amazed at what James has done to that P-40 already. This guy is a good friend of mine, and he is one of the best sheetmetal guys I've ever met. I do lots of...

RE: Calling All P-40 guyz (need some scale advice)

Thanks, Hogrider. I have one of the Bert Kinzey Corsair books (though not volume 2) and I like it alot. I'll look those others up.

Chickenhawk: It seems I won't be able to go to see the P-40...

RE: Calling All P-40 guyz (need some scale advice)

Hogrider;

You don't by chance have the Bert Kinzey book Part 1 of the P-40's do you?

I am looking for more documentation of the P-40B/C models, and wonder if that book has some good stuff...

RE: Calling All P-40 guyz (need some scale advice)

Chicken:

I am going to my friend's shop on Friday where he is restoring a P-40E. I plan to take about a couple hundred pictures of various things (as much as my camera will hold anyway) and if...

RE: Corsair and flaperon?

I agree with Corsair Jock. The Corsair was designed with wash-out. If anything on a small corsair, I would put a little UP aileron on both sides...at neutral on the servo. This would give a little...

RE: Kyosho Corsair 60...out of production?

Gonsos...

Thank you. I hope to sell it for enough money to help my project, but I also don't want to overcharge...still don't have an amount figured out on it yet.

I will be running a...

RE: Calling All P-40 guyz (need some scale advice)

Well, I was trying to be funny, but apparently it didn't work out for me this time!!!

I actually looked it up. Behind that panel is a tank which holds alcohol...the propeller anti-ice tank. ...

RE: The VERY BEST Tip I ever got...

I don't know about that whole "putting a beer in it" thing. What happens if you crash so bad that your beer in the fuse busts open? Don't you think you should rubber band shock mount it, wrap it in...

RE: Calling All P-40 guyz (need some scale advice)

You're talking about the hole behind the rear glass panel? (the rear-vision cutouts)

I think that should be obvious...It's apparently the hole where those mechanics reach through to buck all of...

RE: Kyosho Corsair 60...out of production?

Gonzos;

I'm selling it to support my habit. Actually, there are several reasons.

I decided to get out of glow fuel airplanes because of the cost of fuel. When I have a flying plane, I...

Of the arf...

RE: Covering the TF GS P51 Mustang

Yes, I use Coverite fabric. They make pre-painted fabric ...can get it through Omni models in small rolls, so you could get red to do a red rudder...etc.

Here are a couple of artworks of...

RE: Covering the TF GS P51 Mustang

Well, it would be difficult to see the rivet details on this P-51 of my boss' on the wings anyway...as they have been painted with polyurethane paint which really fills in the rivets. If you're...

RE: Covering the TF GS P51 Mustang

Hi.

The rudder on a full scale P-51 is fabric covered with rib tape over stitched fabric. The elevators were metal construction..riveted aluminum sheet onto aluminum ribs.

I have access...
