Well, I got it to go in forward and reverse now but there is no steering at all. I called Castle Creations technical support and they said that it isn't the esc or motor. Now I have to figure out why...

I have no idea. I just know that I had to plug the esc into channel 2 so I figured the transmitter had to be changed as well. I did switch the N to R and that did nothing. It's the stock transmitter...

Do I have to change to channel 2 on my am transmitter?  If so how do I do that?  I can't find that anywhere on my transmitter and nothing is working the way it is supposed to with the set up.

A castle link field programming card.....so It's not just a plug it in and go set up? Ihave to program it as well?

I definetly will get a better charger! So the traxxas xl5 esc will just plug right in or will Ihave to do something to it to make it work?

Iam running it just on the dirt and the battery is being charged for 6-8 hours each time on the standard charger.
