RE: Futaba 10CHP 2.4GHz, JR X9303 2.4Ghz or Spektrum DX7SE

You may want to consider the 12FG, it is a pro class radio with software that can be updated.......the best part it's on sale for $800. That is an incredible price for the features.

After reading these posts, I just had to build one of these. I have the 102" Yak, now I will have the little brother. I ordered the new OS 35AX to put in it. Should be a good time. I love planes...

RE: Futaba 6014 receiver heat issue

SManMTB
Best I can tell, Futaba has admitted there is a problem. They admit the Engineers in Japan are working on it. I assume when they are satisfied they have improved the situation they will...

RE: Futaba 6014 receiver heat issue

SManMTB,
I think the point is your manual was written before Futaba knew they had a problem. It is not in your manual and there is no way of you knowing there was a heat spec before buying it. I...

RE: 12FG and Z.....vs...14Z

I own the 14mz and my friend owns the 12z. The 12z is more comfortable in the hands. Both are 14 channels (12 proportional and 2 digital). The 12z programs faster then the 14, since there is a...

RE: Futaba 6014 receiver heat issue

SmanMTB,

I agree track racing seperates the men from the boys, I raced 1/10 onroad for one season, however the pucker factor when flying a plane is much higher then with cars. Much more money...

RE: Futaba 6014 receiver heat issue

SManMTB,

Last I checked Futaba has agreed that they have an issue and offered suggestions to minimize the chances of failure. I doubt Futaba wanted to give you a bad experience by hidding...

RE: Futaba 6014 receiver heat issue

Take the case off the receiver and wrap it in a coffee filter. It is white, will let air pass and would filter the dirt. It is also easy and cheap to change.

RE: Your thoughts after reading JR 12X manual

It's easy to not have to use the update functionality if you like to keep buying radios every few years. All the 10 series and now the 9303 to get true non converted 2.4.......should have bought a...

RE: Your thoughts after reading JR 12X manual

Futaba has on occasion fixed bugs with software fixes, but they have also added core functionality. Since I bought my 14mz they have added phase shift to operate JR receivers, new swashplate...

RE: Your thoughts after reading JR 12X manual

After reading the manual it is nothing but a glorified 9303. What a disapointment. Even the screen is the same size as the 9303. The manual is much better then the Futaba ones, and the balance...

RE: Futaba 12Z Questions need answers

I have a 14MZ, but I can answer some of your questions.

1. Since the 12 does not have a touch screen I would think any generic screen cover would work

2. Battery is a Sony NP-F570, I buy...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

OK Dick, I have to admit you are right. I couldn't help myself, I got sucked into the off topic carp. Sometimes these threads need a gate keeper. Time to wait patiently for the specs to arrive. I...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

So in the first paragraph I should quit using my 6014 receiver if I have even one extension because the voltage "could" drop to dangerous levels. Then in the second paragraph you say there really is...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

You match the center location using the subtrim and you match the endpoints using the ATV setting. If one servo has really poor linkage you can also assign a virtual mix to it which allows you to...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

Superdave01 is right, some Hitec servos seem to not like the 2.7V output of the 6014 when using a Y. The simple solution is to eliminate the Y and plug each servo into its own channel. Very few...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

Josey,
The Futaba 12's and 14 program differently then earlier Futaba or JR radios. You plug a servo into a channel and then assign a function to the channel. So in your case you might plug...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

Most 180 degree retract servos will not operate in a proportional fashion even if they are plugged into a proportional channel. They only have two positions 180 degrees apart. You adjust the travel...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

Dick,
I agree with you, the extra receivers help with making sure the signal is received, but the system is not completely redundant as SuperDave01 wants to believe. Even the 9100 proved with the...

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

Correct, they are simply used to drive a servo to one of two positions. Retracts is a common use for them.

RE: Futabas new 2.4 10C and JR's 2.4 9303

Josey,
The virtual channels have nothing to do with the output to the receiver. They are just mixes used in the logic of programming that do not directly drive an output. The output on the 12FG,...
