I wanted to use the aluminum tape as well but it would require removing engine and exhaust to get access to box.

My gear also chipped and cracked on soft landing (although, slight side load from not landing exactly straight).

I heard mine crack on landing. After removing paint around area, multiple cracks...

No problems. Sits just fine. I can bring fuselage up to level before it wants to go over on nose.

1. Bandsaw (or hacksaw, dremel)

2. Table vise

I am not sure which Blue Bird Digital servos you are using, but the biggest I was able to find online was about 140 oz/in of torque.

Based on some internet servo calculators...
