RE: My first flight of the season!

Barracuda, I'm with you on the January 1st season start. BryFlyGuy67, when you live here (NH), you just have to find ways to get out when it's cold or you'll go nutz! I find new snow great for...

RE: My first flight of the season!

What's this talk of flying "season". I fly my T-Rex year round. I just put some plastic skiis on it for snow landings. I fly at work during lunch, it's the only daylight I get in the winter...

RE: Need to Replace 2 HS65-HB servos...What should I buy?

Quatro1975,

If the servo's don't have gears that will mesh they will run continuously. They need the feedback provided by the shaft turning a potentiometer. Power up one of your broken servos...

RE: ring around the rosie?

If you are running a heli with a tail motor, it could be going south. When they start to go they can just lose power to the point that they can't hold the tail any more. Thats how my Blade-CP's...

RE: I coulda had a........DX7

I'm not sure if the DX7 has the same problem as the DX6, but the DX6 uses a linear regulator to convert 9v to 3v (very inefficient). There is a mod out there to replace the linear regulator with a...

RE: Lipo Balancer???

I have a blinky and it works great. It's small, cheap, easy to use and does the job. Just make sure you order an adapater (or adapters) if required (depending on the balance lead on your LiPo's).

RE: Belt or Shaft?

Fair enough. I did some reading on the web and see quite a bit of conflicting data. I have had both shaft and belt drive tails (Falcon-3D, T-Rex 450SA) and like the belt drive better. I get great...

RE: Belt or Shaft?

I don't think a drive shaft is not more efficient than a belt. That's why motorcycles have belts and chains rather than shaft drives (at least most of them). You lose more energy when you change...

RE: 2.4Ghz VS. FM

Tippy,

I guess it's all relative. I got glitches every time I flew with the PCM system (Futaba 6EXH, 72MHz PCM) on my 450SA in certain orentations. I have never had any hint of a glitch or...

RE: New to Small Helis? What Size Battery?

I've used some off brands and TP's. The TP's seem to hold up great and their support is great. I had a 2070 extreme pack swell after a few cycles and they replaced it no questions asked. For the...

RE: 2.4 Ghz and glitches

Make sure you have the antennas at 90 degrees to each other. 2.4GHz is very prone to polarization problems and keeping the antennas 90 deg. apart greatly reduces the chance of losing signal due to...

RE: Night Ranger 2 3D

The Night Ranger has pitch adjustments on the transmitter. It sounds like you need to either up the pitch throw or center point. The manual explains how the two knobs on the Tx work with each other...

RE: T-Rex 450 SE v2. HOVERING is HARD ...

Rather than changing the servo hole locations on your control rods, just add some expo on your radio (it probably has it). That way you get more forgiving control near center stick and you still...

RE: 2.4Ghz VS. FM

That does sound like a good deal (Belt CP for $200.00), but if it were me, I would still pony up for seperates. Right now I have two planes and two helis and four radios! At least I won't be...

RE: 2.4Ghz VS. FM

I would not even consider FM or PCM at this point in time. Go 2.4Ghz. Fewer gliches and no antennas to break (at least they are so short they are much harder to break).

Starting with a coaxial...

RE: OK, HAVOC heli's were fun but what's next for the kids?

Collective pitch allows for the pitch or angle of the blades to change from negative to postitive. This allows the heli to fly upside down (flip/roll etc). The blades always rotate in the same...

RE: Heli Upgrade Dilemma CP Pro or Trex450V2

I've also had an SA for over a year and love it. It flies very, very well. I did upgrade the tail to aluminum, but other than that it's stock.

RE: 2.4 Ghz and glitches

I also fly with a DX6 (T-Rex 450-SA). I have not had any problems yet (about 8 months with the DX6, I had a Futaba 72MHz PCM before that). My 72MHz setup was almost un-flyable due to glitching and...

RE: Move to: 450 or 600?

Consider where you are going to fly most. I fly in my yard (small) and in a small field near work. I like the size of the 450 for convinience. Compared to the blade, it will be rock solid, really...

RE: I flew solo today !!!!

Nice Job Rappy,

I have just started doing flips with my T-Rex 450SA and still have to land after doing a few flips to calm down. It's amazing how tensed up and shaky a grown man can get after...

RE: DX6 and the DX7

I have a 450SA with a DX6 and have been very happy with it. I converted from a Futaba 6EXH and setup was easy, it took about a hour to get everything ironed out. I would prefer to have the 5 point...

RE: hover and forward flight questions.

Does the AXE have a tail motor or a belt/gear driven tail? If it has a motor driven tail, the tail motor could be on it's way out. My blade-CP used to do this when the motor was almost gone. The...

RE: How u control? pinch or with thumb

I don't like using a strap with my transmitter so thumbs is the only way to go for me. I have to admit that sometimes my thumb tips get sore after a few flights, but I have no trouble with control...
