RE: Why do nitro racers go off and on with the throttle?

I pump the throttle thru the corners to keep engine rev high at same time keep tight line. More engine rev = quicker acceleration out of the corner.

RE: 1/10 RC Formula 1 Cars...lets see'em

Hello just sharing my F104. As much as I like realistic paint jobs, it is getting confusing to race against similarly painted Ferraris and McLarens :D

RE: old engine

Hi,

Try the following:

1. Put in a new glow plug. See if problem persists.
2. Try to make the setting richer.
3. Check for air leaks.

Hope you get it working.

RE: motor problem

Maybe your motor brushes have worn out to the point that it is not pressing tightly against the commutator. Try replacing the brushes and see what happens.

As long as your TL-01 has full ball bearings you will not have any problems running an 11 turn motor w/ the speed tuned gear set. I have done in before in racing, and the car was very fast. Put on a...

For sealing air leaks, use a high-temperature automotive gasket sealant. Mine has a reddish color.

Make sure it is high temperature sealant. I once used a sealant that simply melted in the high...

RE: Shaft or belt?

Hi,

Just my personal opinion

Belt - Seems to have more friction than shafts, better handling in corners, lighter overall weight, less rotational mass, more maintenance.

Shaft - Less...

RE: New to R/C cars. Many questions

Hi,

Afterrun oil - I have used brands designed for rc car engines and also WD-40. I prefer the special afterrun oils, because the WD-40 seems to leave a sticky feel over time. I use afterrun...

RE: Mod Motor Questions

Hi ChrisE,

How much maintenance depends on your budget. For club racing, cut the commutator and replace brushes after 3 - 5 runs. For playing, follow the specs of the brush (e.g. 10 - 30 runs)....

RE: Are all motors of the same Turn / Wind the same?

Hi,

Maybe you overgeared your motor. Not breaking in would not do damage except maybe to the brushes and commutator. But melted plastic and smoking motor usually means the motor is having a hard...

Faster

Hello,

Try using light oil for the gears. Grease creates a lot of friction compared to oil.

You can also lighten the car by drilling holes in the chassis (but I do not recommend it, you will...

TXT cheaper in Japan?

Went to Japan Feb 2003, disappointed that the tamiya kits were not that much cheaper.

But I did find the spare parts such as tires a bargain.
