RE: motor for rubber FF conversion?

Oh, I'll definately have an instructor for learning to fly the LT-25. It sounds like RC'ifying a free-flight should wait until after i learn to fly my trainer, I was hoping it'd actually be easier...

RE: motor for rubber FF conversion?

Would it be possible to add some sort of servo-arm to the actuator so that it could be mounted remotely (and so that the amount of rudder throw could be adjusted)? It'd be alot nicer to adjust the...

RE: motor for rubber FF conversion?

Cool, 20 minutes between flights sounds better than 45. On the ruder blipping -- I take it you can't simply hold down the button to get the rudder to stay offset? That's kind of a shame if it works...

RE: Wattage Micro Flyer Transmitter Mod.

I suspect you could install some sort of toggle switch that would isolate the extra 2 cells for charging purposes... just never forget to switch to the "charge" setting before charging the battery! ...

RE: motor for rubber FF conversion?

Ah, no wonder I didn't recognize the hinges! That's one less thing to worry about, though, if I can just dig them out of the WMF.

It's been a long time since I've built stick and tissue (read...

RE: motor for rubber FF conversion?

Thanks for the pics and the flight report! If you don't mind more questions from the ignorant newbie -- what did you use for hinges on the rudder? Those don't resemble any hinge I've seen before...

RE: motor for rubber FF conversion?

So... did it work? If so, how big do you think you could go with the wmf hardware? I've had my eyes on a PP Flying Aces Moth, or an EasyBuilt Skokie (both 24" span), but I also considered a Sig...

RE: servos gitter

I'm not sure what's causing the jittering, but it wouldn't suprise me if the rx was picking up low-power stray radiation and trying to interpret as a tx signal (which could easily cause the symptom...

RE: motor for rubber FF conversion?

Actually, stripping the gear out of a Wattage MicroFlyer sounds like a stellar idea... The transition back to normal FF when it goes out of range sounds like a good feature, given the limited range...

RE: 14 months from sticks to covered

I'll see if I can dig up my camera tonight so I can share my newbie covering job (wrinkles and all). I figure it's not all that bad, considering I was using 15 year old oracover and a household...

14 months from sticks to covered

Wheee! I'm not done yet, but a marathon covering session last night and now all my airplane bits are covered... Now it's on to hinging (ugh). It's been 14 months since I started my LT-25 (and...

motor for rubber FF conversion?

Hi guys, can anyone direct me to a source for lightweight motors that will run on 3.7V? I'm looking into what it would take to do some conversions of rubber FF models (first to simply add a rudder...

Low voltage motor for 1x LiPo?

Does someone market motors intended for use with single LiPo batteries? (i.e. 3.7V)
I'm specifically looking for a motor that one could match to a Plantraco DSP4-SC, though a low-voltage brushless...

RE: Operating rx/servos at lower voltages

Thanks for the info! I did a bit more searching and discovered that GWS rx's are supposed to be good down to 3.5V, though the most appealing was the plantranco DSP4, another dual-conversion (ala...

Bluebird 303 Servo

In my search for info on the Bluebird 303 micro servo, I noticed that several of the 1/2A folks here have some, and seem to like them. Does anyone know if they come with a spec sheet that includes a...

RE: Operating rx/servos at lower voltages

Rodney, do you remember the other brand? I found where I can buy the FMA low-voltage receiver and servos (www.fma-direct.com), but I'd like to see all my options. Especially since I've heard less...

Operating rx/servos at lower voltages

I've read about people using LiPoly batteries to run their rx and servos, but the only post I saw was about running them above their spec'd voltage (i.e. a 2-cell Lipo). Has anyone tried using a...

RE: Has anyone here tried an Ornithopter ?

Single-Channel : Throttle?

Has anyone ever built or seen a throttle-only RC airplane? I've been looking into CO2 motors and the like, and a post about electric motors and freeflight got me to thinking... Would it be...

RE: Lookers (Lurkers?)

As a Looker/Lurker, I thought I'd chime in. Personally, I am intrigued by diesel engines. I have every intention of someday owning one, but alas I don't even have enough money for a "regular...

RE: Cox .049 For $4.99!

Out of curiosity, what happens if one does not set them with the setting tool? I've been considering one or two of these cox .049's (with a diesel conversion in mind), but "conrod socket fit in the...

RE: Chinese C*x 049 Sure Starts

Would these cheap COX engines work with a diesel conversion head? If so, would the throttle sleeve still work?

thanks,
Rick
