I thought about doing this but the material is only 1/8 inch thick so to drill and insert would need to be something less than an 1/8th. That wouldn't be strong enough so wil need to stick with the...

Dowel joiner seems weak.

I am working on a low wing skimmer that shows to use a 1/8 inch dowel piece for the joiner.
it seems weak and not sure I understand how to attach it. I guess I know I should glue it but just seems...
