RE: Have YOU ever shot someone else down?

I've never shot anyone down, (knock on wood), but I have been shot down. A year or so ago I was at the local field and had to wait about an hour for a guy to finish with the frequency. I don't know...

RE: Taco - FAT FREE

I pulled my FF Taco vertical about 10 feet up the other day and the engine quit. It nosed over and went straight in. Hit hard on the spinner. I thought it was done. Unbelievably the only damage was a...

RE: Taco II servos

The Taco flies fairly quickly, has large surfaces and you are going to want some extreme throws. Most guys, including myself, are using hs-85mg's or equivalent. My opinion is that if you install the...

RE: PROSIS#1 is building the FAT FREE TACO

Yes Ann, the wood is fitted around and over the top of the gear. Hard to describe without pics, but you are basically assembling a piece that fits over the bend at the top, and clamps it to the...

RE: Taco - FAT FREE

I have had two HS-85mg servos go south with pot/amplifier problems. That out of 4 that I bought. That's a pretty crappy percentage if you ask me. I am extremely lucky that the problems develped on...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Yeah, yesterday was with the batteries in the trailing edge, behind the servos. I was worried about losing the pack too, so I soaked the whole area of sheeting with thin ca and didn't have a problem....

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

The blender is a very high g maneuver where the airplane is going straight down in a roll and then almost instantly stops the descent with an inverted snap transitioning into an inverted flat spin....

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Hey Swany, in relationship to the spar, what's the farthest aft cg you've flown the FF? I'm excited to start movin' it on back and was wondering what your experience has been. On another note, I did...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Ah yes, why didn't I think of that, duh. The .40fp and the .25fx weigh the same on paper so the engine change didn't make much of a difference. She does the wickedest blenders you ever saw though!

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Flew the FF Taco again today with the .40fp It's alot of fun, I just have to figure out how to move the cg back more. The batteries are already in the trailing edge of the wing. Maybe mount the fuel...

RE: Ok experts....here's the scoop....

Lean out the high end a little to a more realistic setting, then adjust the low speed needle for the idle and midrange. You'll be very happy with the moki..

Looking for plans..

To the Breezy Jr. shoulder-winged kit from the mid '50s. I have an original in rough shape that my old man got for a few cents when he bought the Babcock radio kit in about '56 or '57. I have been...

RE: PROFILEs definetely not for Europe!!

I wish I was still traveling back and forth, I'd throw a couple profiles in the back so Zafer could start the revolution in the EU.

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Test flew the FF Taco today. First flight required one click of down, and one click of right aileron. Low rates (1 inch of travel) are definitely sufficient for normal flying. Max throws and this...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Thanks guys. I've used an HS-55 on throttles before, never had a problem. The resolution isn't great, but it's not so that you can tell and the weight saving is worth it to me. While they aren't that...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Well, finally finished the FF Taco. Took a little more time than I anticipated, but then it always does. AUW is 2.25 lbs HS-85mg's on the tail, HS-81's on the wings, HS-55 on the throttle. Magnum PRO...

RE: RE: RE: RE: Taco - FAT FREE

Ordered my FF Taco yesterday, looking forward to the fun. I'm trying to decide which engine to put on it. I have a powerhouse bb .25, and also a .40fp that is slightly heavier, but slightly more...

RE: u can do or funtana3d --Which is better and why???

If you want a 3D "trainer" get the UCD 46. If you want a more advanced and capable machine, get the Funtana. The UCD will do most of the maneuvers to a degree, but with no precision whatsoever. For...

Dude, that's what the thin CA is for. I have been glueing myself back together instead of going to the ER for like 10 years. At first all my doctor buddies said the stuff was poisonous and I was...
