RE: Sig Kavalier Build

I love the plane and the engine, but I'm not sure if they are the best combination. My last one ran great with a 46FX. One of those, or the new AX (or any good running 46) might be a better match....

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

I agree that the prototype looks good. I wasn't trying to bash it. Better builders than I will probably have no problems. I also haven't seen it fully finished yet, it may (and probably will) be...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Mike,

Sorry for the lack of updates, some family matters came up. Before that happened, I'd been slowed up working on the front. I was not planning on building a cowl for the engine, but even...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Mike,

Sorry for the confusion, I haven't updated my info here yet. I received the one that you shipped to NH.

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

I'm getting one of the ones shipped today. I can't wait, it looks like a better dust.....

I'm hoping I can build it for a fly-in labor day, but this summer has been crazy, so I just won't...

RE: Lanier SeaBird

Thanks for the comments.

I also read that the wing likes being two pieces better than one, so I was looking at reinforcing the center as well.

Lanier SeaBird

So,

after poking around it seems like a better name for this would be "BirdS**T". Assuming I already have one, and I'm foolish enough to try it anyway, what are some recomended mods to try and...

RE: Sig Skybolt canopy question

All,

thanks for the ideas, but I'm not sure if those will really work in this case.

DavidAgar - My father has RC-56 (probably about 5 bottles of various ages), but the problem is the very...

Sig Skybolt canopy question

I'm posting this for my father.

He has been working on a Sig Skybolt kit and is getting close to finishing it. The question (or questions) relate to attaching the canopy. Does anyone have any...

RE: Trash Planes

The duraplane was toast, I didn't even try. But the other thing started life as an electric, and when I fished it out of the trash showed more than a little wear and tear. I patched it up, turned...

RE: Super Duellist 2/60 Build

Jim,

Thanks for the pics, that is basically what I had in mind.

Bill,

We've done a fair amount of experimenting with foam wing constreuuction ideas, with more to come, so we'll...

RE: Super Duellist 2/60 Build

Bill,

For strength I was going to run a carbon fiber spar (possibly 2, still thinking) through the foam. The gear is the one piece I've been thinking the most about, and what I was leaning...

RE: Super Duellist 2/60 Build

WR,

I have a question for you that I thought I'd throw out for the general public instead of a PM. I have the MK II plans, and for the 40 size (no enlargement) I wanted your opinion on a foam...

RE: Monokote Blues

Do any of you guys know if they have changed the chemicals in MK? My father has used it for years, but the current plane he is covering (with fairly new stuff) leaves him feeling sick, kinda of...

RE: not so duraplane durastik

Larry,

that's exactly what happened. I was very surprised how far it made it into the trees. It was very interesting to watch it arch through the trees and still see it going a ways.

RE: Stupid tree...

So the trees and I have declared open war at this point. This was slightly closer to the center of the runway, and hit many trees, not just one. In fact, I could follow it on in arc through the...

A good weekend

So we had a good day out at the field this past weekend. The Diamond Dust is mine (I just started another thread for it), that hit a tree. There's an own design fun fly that we took turns abusing...
