i have a steel spur gear so when you roll it, it makes a noise, but if it spins freely and isnt too tight against the clutchbell dont worry about it.

what i'm saying is that with the rotostart's for the hpi engines, you'd be better off in the long run with a pullstart. I have heard too many complaints about gear problems inside the roto start...

i really didnt read what the problem was, but if you want the most reliable starting system for the savage, just get the pullstart. if you use it right it'll last much longer than the rotostart,...

also if you're using a new steel spur gear, it'll make some noise no matter what. if you're still using a plastic spur gear then make sure the alignment isnt too loose or too tight
