RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Hi guys. Just finished my DV and will maiden it next week, the first day with 7-10 mph straight down the runway from the east. Not too picky, huh? Thanks to all the guys who helped on this thread....

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Yeah, good deal, Greyhound. Gotta get me an incidence meter. Maudib, thanks again. This stuff is GOOD, isn't it. Looking forward to flying this thing. Sure to get the blood roaring thru my veins....

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Not even. more like 3/16". Not a real accurate measure, but close. Talking about the 'A' frames, right?

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Howdy. On my plane, like your 2nd batch pic, the rear cabane mount is about 1/4" higher than the front mount measuring from the trim stripe on the fuse, which is parellel to the bottom of the fuse....

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Thanks guys. Good advice. I'm not to the point I can put everything together. Bottom line, if everything lines up easily, it's probably the right way, right? In case you can't tell, this is my first...

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Howdy. My plane is like your 2nd batch pic. s/n 115. Don't know if that's 2nd batch or not. Hope so. I didn't mean to twist the wings to assemble them, I was referring to flight loads and whether one...

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Maudib, re p. 25 of the directions, the pic seems to show the cabane struts mounted backwards. On mine, taking care to measure the width of the two 'v's' and putting the taller one on the front, the...

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Yeah, not a big deal. It took an1/8" shim to clear the problem. On the struts, I was just concerned with only one screw holding the strut. With wing twisting and flexing, it might put some strain on...

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

There are some differences from the manual on this plane. The struts are totally different. Two pins and one screw instead of the threaded fittings that are shown.

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

I'm using HS-645's. Same size as yours. The plane is S/N 115. It's not my imagination. Had to add 1/8" shims.

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Just discovered the servo wells in the wings are too shallow. Hadda shim them up. Not a major deal, but surprising. Are they all like this?

How was the color match on your cowl? Mine is pretty bad.

RE: Its Here!! Double Vision

Maudib, thanks a bunch for the info on mounting the DA-50 in the DV. When I downloaded the manual there was no page 20, so no tips on engine mounting. Your info is a lifesaver!

RE: Brillelli 46cc

Gonna go with the synchro-spark. Just wonder if the velocity stack will fit in the cowl. If not, does it matter? So you don't have a choke-what's a wet finger once in awhile?

RE: Brillelli 46cc

Just had a great idea. Asked Scott about the choke, and the 46 DOES come with choke now, and is lighter, altho he didn't say how much. Happy contrails!

RE: Brillelli 46cc

A choke is very desirable, isn't it? 'Scuse my lack of knowledge. My only exp. is my DA-50 on a AW 29% Katana.

RE: Brillelli 46cc

Hey, Zippi. Does the 46 have a choke? I'm thinking of this engine on the GP Ultimate.

RE: GP 1.60 Ultimate and BCMA 40cc gasser

Hi, bodywerks. I don't think the BCMA has a choke, gotta find out. I don't add any extras to my planes. Simple as possible. Actually, the combo w/ the Fuji from Tower looks good. $100 more, but lots...

GP 1.60 Ultimate and BCMA 40cc gasser

What do y'all think of the BCMA 40cc gasser on the GP 1.60 Ultimate? Seems the 40 might be a tad less powerful than needed, but as this will be my first big bipe, I'm don't know. Ya know? The price...

RE: ANY ONE KNOWS ABOUT KATANA'S FROM AEROWORKS ?

Hi, guys. I've got the 29% version with a DA 50 with stock muffler. Flies very smooth, no bad tendencies that I can tell. Lands like a dream. Good IMAC plane. I like it. Y'all take care now, heah?

RE: Ultra Stick LITE Done Right ..!

Hey, Cavepig. I've got some HS635's with a 6v pack on a plane I'm building. I'm getting some jerky moves on my elevators and throttle. Doesn't do it with 4.8v. ????? Whaddaya think?
