RE: What is the most expensive plane that you have crashed?

Mine was a 27% Midwest Extra that I spent a winter building, and sifted through some trees. Airframe was a total lost, a little bit of radio/servo damage, and my Brison 3.2 had to go in for repairs....

RE: Magnum gone in at 180mph... very nice...

What a bummer. It sure ain't fun to pick up all those pieces. But 180mph.... come on dude. I have watched a lot of pylon racers go in full bore in the 150 - 170 range and the biggest piece left...

RE: Cutting hinge slots in hard wood?

If you have a local electrical supply house (construction electrical), go in and ask for a MC cutter blade. (also known as a Roto-split, and BX cutter depending on what part of the country you are...

RE: Young RC Pilot's role call!

Vince, I completely agree with you that it is great to see the youth out there flying (Much better than I do I might add!) instead of doing other not so innocent things. I am just curious of how a...

RE: Young RC Pilot's role call!

Hi my name is David and I am 41 (thats right forty one) . I am really curious of how on earth you guys (teens) have enough money to afford these planes???? I own my own business, make a good...

RE: Rubber bands

I never re-use rubber bands on a plane wing either. They are so cheap, I won't risk a plane over a few pennies. To make sure I don't accidentally grab a used one I cut the bands off of the plane...

RE: Have you been bitten by a prop? Yes or no answer...

Been smacked a few times, and bitten twice. Still have the scars to prove it.

RE: HInge Points

I did the masking tape thing on my last plane and to be quite honest, I wasn't worth the work. The glue will still seep under the tape and it is actually harder to get off when it is a thin layer...

RE: Volt Watch: Worth (more than) it's weight in gold!

These things just can't be beat. I have one on every plane I own (except for parkies and my gas 6V plane) and won't build a plane without one. Tower always has them on sale throughout the year so I...

Air show crash in Santa Fe NM

I am surprised that no one has posted about the air show crash of a Sukhoi SU-29 in Santa Fe NM last weekend killing the pilot Richard Bobbitt of Parker CO. (My old hometown) It sounds like he was...

RE: Covering opinions? What do you prefer?

I built a Pica Waco biplane last year and used 21st century fabric. I absolutely loved it and will definately use it again on a scale project. I personally wouldn't use anything but fabric covering...

RE: 1/4 CAP 232 + Fence Post

After my last crash, the least damaged part of my plane looked worse than that! [:@]

Looks like an easy repair. You should be back in the air in no time![8D]

RE: Spinner Screw

If it is an allen socket screw that has rounded out, try getting a star tip screwdriver a hair bigger than the allen size, tap it into the hole and turn. Taping it in (gently yet firmly if you...

RE: Graphic Images and a warning!

OUCH!!![X(] That looks really painful. Okay, I gotta ask the question nobody seems to want to ask. How many stitches/staples did you end up with? It looks like a whole ton of metal and thread in...

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff ARF

I just want to confirm what the others are saying. Pin the firewall as shown in the instructions and put the servos in the tail with that engine. Even then, you will probably need to add some tail...

RE: Need help getting fuel tank over CG - See pic

Kind of hard to tell from your picture, but it looks like the entire center section of the servo tray up to the rudder servo is unused except for your name and ama info stickers. If that is the...

RE: 1/3rd-1/4th scale biplane kit suggestions

Not exactly 1/4 scale but the Pica Waco 1/5 scale is a beautiful plane. I have the 1/6th and it is absolutely stunning and it flys great. Lots and lots of sticks which makes for a fantastic winter...

RE: PLEASE HELP ME!

With all due respect, the outcome would have been the same if you were the one at the sticks or your friend was. I have to agree with SST. You have been given repeated good advise to get help and...

RE: Covereing bottom wing question

I personally would cover it. Besides, the amount of time you took to take the picture, write the question, upload the photo, and wait for a reply you could have covered it 10 times over! :D

RE: PLEASE HELP ME!

enyce2k9,

No offence but you REALLY need to find help. The "very bad workmanship" as you call it, I call right thrust. Most airplanes have their engine/motor tilted slightly to the right to...

RE: Easiest mounting 50cc for Patty Wagstaff?

Hi Wing-Ding

I have a Brison 3.2 on my Patty Wagstaff and it was really pretty easy to mount. Since the other two are rear intake it seems that they would be a little harder. I made standoffs...

RE: Jumped in with both feet.......advice?

Jess,
That plane is a beauty! You will love it. Starting a big gas engine by hand isn't all that scary or difficult. Gassers start pretty easily and once you get the hang of it, it will be second...
