RE: GP Cap 232

It flies nice! Sort of modified as you can see. It has a Turnigy HP50 in it. It's a copy of a DA50, mounting, mufflers etc., even looks like a DA50. This plane is a rocket!!!

RE: GP Cap 232

Don't know about you guys, but I buy GP for the airframe only. Landing gear and hardware get thrown away. The airframes are solid and fly well. Some guys don't like one piece wings, doesn't really...

RE: inverted harriers

The simulator idea is a good way to practice getting it right. I noticed that a few of you are from up north and the weather must be keeping you from flying as much as you would like. I've tried a...

RE: GP Cap 232

I have one of the Edge 540's also. Your research is correct. The joiner on the Edge has 2 aluminum joiner pieces that are epoxied to the wood joiners.

RE: Turnigy HP50

Forgot to mention that it is the old XYZ engine that HK is selling with the Turnigy name name on it!

Turnigy HP50

I've read some posts about this engine and I couldn't resist trying to get more input on it. Read one post that it swallowed a magnet for the rotary valve, how that happened is a myth to me, and one...

RE: inverted harriers

The people you fly with probably don't want to do inverted harriers because they can't get a grip on reverse inputs. Takes a lot of practice! Got to say they are easier once you get the hang of it....

RE: GP Cap 232

That's good to know. I've never used it, but have heard of it. No snow here! Got a few flights in this morning.

RE: GP Cap 232

I've had one for about a year now with no problems, 40cc gas. I'm sort of aggressive with it. Not sure what that brand of epoxy has to do with it either! From the pictures it looks like you did a...

RE: where to buy these horns?

frieshoo is right. I have a set from an old Chip Hyde CapX. I have them on a 27% Edge now. They are nice. If you find any please post to let us know where to buy them.

RE: DLE 30 or SPE 43 for GP Su-31?

Have a couple GP 27%. Started with a CRRC 40cc, 3.95hp, Have to say they flew and that is about all! Put a Turnigy HP50, 5.5hp, very similar to DA 50 and DLE55. Now they are rockets. And a lot of fun...

RE: Great Planes Extra 27% 330s

That is a nice looking model. I'm considering one for my next project. Don't want to hijack your thread just thought I would let you know what I did on my GP Cap 27% and GP Edge 27%. For about $50 or...

RE: Great Planes Extra 27% 330s

You might want to consider the 22x8. If I'm not mistaken DA recommends a prop that will allow 6200 to 7200 rpm, But over 6500 for break in. It's worth the extra $ for the correct prop considering...

RE: Aeroworks Extra 300 35cc QB Question

At that altitude I don't blame you. Have a BME 44 in the H9 260, it's more than enough, here! I could live with an oz. or 2 myself, but 10oz., no way. I'm with you on moving the engine also, not...

You don't sound that tired to me! That's exactly what I mean. Guy's like you that have had the experience over the years could come up with a general outline for the "sticky". Couldn't agree more...

RE: Oil Test Summary by rc bugman

I've always referred to this manual that came with my first BME it hasn't changed over the years. There is a lot of good info and it's worked for me with many different engine brands.

RE: Oil Test Summary by rc bugman

There are "many" threads with proper engine break in procedures. Some engine manufactures recommend running 2 gals. quality oil then switch to synthetic. Some like BME recommend 5 gals. then switch...

RE: Aeroworks Extra 300 35cc QB Question

Tom at Valley View RC built a 260 with a lightweight 40cc, when I spoke with him he didn't know of anyone that had built a 300 with that engine. They also offer a package, AW 260 and 40cc engine,...

RE: Aeroworks Extra 300 35cc QB Question

A little less wing area and a little shorter fuse on the 260. The 260 will balance with a lightweight 40cc, 2.8lbs. Seems as though the 300 needs weight in the nose to balance with lightweight...
