I'm good for any/multiple weekend(s). I have an antique auction some saturday night, but that's not a problem.

RE: Basic 32

I know the OP is old, but can Mr. Cajun Gator get in to edit it, posting a link to the plans thread (Which I've built from...awesome!) to keep those that don't read from posting their plan req's?

RE: North Florida MABA

Ok, new hull is finished, though the paint sucks.

When are we gonna go run again? Any chance of an early meet in December?

RE: .40-.46 build plans

I decided to use the packing wood I have, as the 1/8" birch ply I had didn't want to make the bend without a lot of ominous cracking sounds. I'm using 2 pieces of the stuff, oposing the grains (ie...

RE: .40-.46 build plans

I've got my centers and bulkheads cut, the transom seems strange, like the diagonals should line up with the centers (ie, \|___|/) so I may have to re-do it with different measurements.

I'm...

RE: .40-.46 build plans

I'm getting ready to start this build, but I have a question.

In the pictures, there is a long trangular piece that is shown on the sides, glued in on the bottom of the angles.

I can't tell if...

RE: North Florida MABA

Sorry for the de-rail there.

If the other half decides we're not going to the car show in Pensacola, I'll be there to at least watch some boats. I still need to either scrap the air rudders or...

RE: North Florida MABA

Well, Spits are small enough that you can mistake them for 1:5 scale RC :D

Actually, the german Amphicar used the 1147cc Triumph engine I have in the stock car, so one could say my car is powered...

RE: North Florida MABA

Very nice.

Pair of '64 Spitfire Mk I's. One of them is stock, mostly, except the interior. The other is a '64 tub on a GT-6 frame, with engine, trans and all from the GT-6. It's why I'm rolling to...

RE: North Florida MABA

I'd have given anything to be able to see that launch. Very cool, nice pics!

I didn't make the last meet because I was busy with a "just gotta get it" Triumph Spitfire I found in Tampa, and was in...

Strictly speaking, nothing, but as I met/saw him at the last meeting I went to, I had hoped he'd be on here and could pm me.

I've still got the microswitch setup as shown in the last set of...

RE: Redcat's Remote Start

It's only a problem when I get flooded, ususally, or when the engine is extremely cold. Then what I'll do is to loosen the glowplug and put an external igniter on to get her sputtering then tighten...

RE: Redcat's Remote Start

Yup, people on eBay were trying to sell the Losi starter for $45 and up, then got a look at the losi price list ;-)

The traxxas is ok, for what it is, but I really want to see the Redcat setup.

RE: Redcat's Remote Start

Losi's setup lists for about $60, for the starter and the module. The harness is like $5.

If nothing else, it's cheap. :D

I think Traxxas' starters are ~50.

RE: Redcat's Remote Start

Well, here's what I have right now. It's an EZ-Start I (the one for the TRX.15) that's been modded and I added an aluminum plate to the back (see the pic above) to make it fit my .28 engine better. ...

RE: ever going dispute electric or nitro?

To all those that say "Nitro is noisy, my neighbors call the cops/give me the death stare/etc." I say you have poor neighbors. Nitro is no more noisy than a lawnmower or a blower. Of course, I feel...

RE: Redcat's Remote Start

Well, after a bit of work, I have my switch. I'm still planning on getting a ready-made switch, but this one will work. I also managed to get the thing small enough that I can cram it in the radio...
