RE: Angel's Shadow Anyone?

Freddy,

Not to hijack this thread, but were you a member of the RAMS and District 8 at one time?

RE: SPA / BPA prediction

I've been following this thread with some interest and thought I'd put in my rare $.02 worth. Seems to me that combining SPA/BPA or anything else for that matter is simply a matter of loosely...

RE: Lets See the Ballistic Pattern Planes

Great to see the Phoenix being restored. Nice job on the restoration. I doubt if I would have the patience to do the same. Its has a real classic look to it. What kind of power does it have and...

RE: Lets See the Ballistic Pattern Planes

Love the lines of the Atlantas. My son does too. Anyone know if the plane is still being kitted? The fruit of my loins wants an Atlanta.

Lets See the Ballistic Pattern Planes

I've been following all the hoopla about the BPA and am amazed at all the classic planes that showed up for the contest. All of which got me to thinking, how many ballistic pattern planes are there...

YS 1.40 FZ Won't Keep Running

I have a YS 1.40 FZ engine. The engine will start and initially run fine (tached at 8000 approx). After a short period of running (say 30 sec-1 min) it will start to lose power and continue to lose...

RE: Pattern Control Throws?

Thanks for all the inputs. I'll reduce the aileron and elevator throws. How much rudder is a good starting point?

I should add that our Typhoon 2+2 was purchased with fairly decent hardware...

Pattern Control Throws?

Three questions for those who have been into pattern for a while:

1. For newly designed pattern planes or for pattern planes without instructions, what are good starting point control throws...

Typhoon 2+2 Canopy

I have a Typhoon 2+2 in need of a new canopy. Three years ago, I bought a canopy from Gator RC as a spare. However, it turned out to be far too large to be for the 2+2 model. I hear that Gator RC...

RE: Game Commander Problem

Thanks Mike. I will send the Game Commander in, as you suggested. BTW, love the AFPD, great graphics and choice of planes.

RE: Game Commander Problem

I can't get to the pin without removing the whole gimbal mechanism. Will removing the four screws in the front cover (at the right stick) allow removal of the gimbal mechanism?

RE: Game Commander Problem

OK, I got the back cover off and inspected the mechanism. There is what appears to be a pin that came loose and is sticking out from the gimbal? and is striking the mount. Pin is dead center on top...

RE: Game Commander Problem

Right stick (elevator) is stuck. Not ratchety, but stuck in up position (i.e. pulled back). Can't push it up for down elevator. I don't want to force it. Aileron stick motion (side to side) is OK.

Game Commander Problem

Just received my AFPD with Game Commander controller last week. The right stick is stuck in the down position. Is there a warranty on the Game Commander? Will I void such warranty if I open up the...

RE: Telink Big Bubble (NESail)

Yes, it comes with a wire landing gear that may be a bit too narrow in design.

RE: Telink Big Bubble (NESail)

Great outdoor flier. Flies slow nicely. However, any speed at all resulted in rudder flutter. Mine had a PJS 550R and it was enough to hover with.

Build instructions are horrible. ...

RE: Help on Tensor 4D Build

Greg,

Much appreciate your advice. I will keep the Tensor stock. Besides, it will be easier to complete and I'm, frankly, getting tired of the build. It was much more time consuming than I...

RE: Help on Tensor 4D Build

Greg,

Thanks! How does the weak tail affect durability? Is it a weak point in a hard landing? If not, I will take your advise and not try any modifications.

RE: Looking for Old Pattern Planes

Mike,

Not one of the planes you're looking for, but I own a brand new, never flown Henry Piorun Eqinox from the mid eighties. It is the version with the upright mounted engine. Go power is a...

Help on Tensor 4D Build

I'm finally close to finishing my Tensor 4D build for my son. The tail of the plane seems awfully fragile in twist. Is it as weak as it seems?

Has anyone strengthened this part of the plane...

RE: Newb help on tensor build

Shockflyerkid101,

I guess I must be a slow builder. I also used epoxy in lieu of CA. I did this intentionally, sacrificing less weight for, hopefully, more durability as the Tensor will be...

RE: Newb help on tensor build

I hate to say this, but I found the Tensor build to be a time consuming affair. Lots of parts to put together when compared to a conventional X-plane. It also appears to be on the flimsy side. ...
